“Very disappointing”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

Ok, the dancing is wonderful with moments of brilliance but as an experience very disappointing; crowded with maybe 80 others into a cavern-like room with many, particularly Americans, who insisted on continually using flash photography and holding up cameras to video the dance - crass behaviour which highly distracting to others in the audience and, to me, disrespectful to the performers. 'Free' drink halfway through and at the end herded out to make way for the next lot. A totally different experience to a few nights ago in Seville where no photography/video was allowed and you could immerse yourself in a great performance and experience.

“We loved this Flamenco show”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

We visited Granada recently and were advised to see a Flamenco show at the Cuevas de Sacromonte. "The real thing" in Flamenco is nearly impossible to find nowadays as it is almost all geared for tourists, as we were told by many locals, but this is as real as it gets. Big buses filled with tourists arrive in Savcromonte by the minute, but don't be fooled, this is real Flamenco dancing and heritage, as this family has been doing this show for nearly 75 years, as we got to speak a little with the director. He even gave us a tidbit of cave history: the original Flamenco dancing in the caves was done not over wood floors (tablao') but over stone floors, which makes it more difficult. As dancers kept injuring their knees after years of work, they switched to wood floors only about 15 years ago. For 20 Euros we got a great, one hour show and a drink. Very talented dancers and singers, unmatched ambiance in a real Gitano (Gypsy) cave and a nice sangría, we had a terrific night.

“Good dancing, mediocre dinner”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Very over priced show. Large cave/restaurant with just our table of 4 and one other couple hence no atmosphere whatsoever. food very basic, no choice at all, wine terrible! when we were called at 10pm for the show were shown into another"cave" with rows of childrens sized chairs down each side and packed with what must have been a japanese tour party, half of whom fell asleep during the show. Very uncomfortable chairs, only 1 drink offered during the show, some of which were served at the beginning and the rest, after much shouting, at the interval. 2 shows going on at the same time so musicians and dancers kept running in and out of the show! We were rushed out on to coaches at the end, even though we had booked a mini bus, staff desperate to get the next load in for the next show - chaotic! Told to get off coach after 3-4 mins driving for a 20 minute walk to see Alhambra by night! lots of people in heels, unsuitable footwear for cobbled streets and at 11.30pm, none of this was mentioned in advance. Would not recommend this show to anyone, even at half the price.

“really disappointing flamenco show.”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

After seeing 3 wonderful flamenco shows in Madrid and Seville, i was really looking forward to the authentic flamenco show by gypsies in their caves i Granada but was so disappointed. Short dances, no passion, just a money making show and i thought quite unprofessional. If you are looking for good flamenco, villa Rosa in Madrid and Bail in burritos Santa Cruz in Seville...now they were full of passion. Oh and it was expensive compared to the others, in factdouble the price
