“Not happy”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

It came recommended but waiter had a slapped face on him all the time food was below any other we had had in the area. We ate quick and went somewhere else so did other people

“Tapas were over the top!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We spent three days in Granada and had meals all three days at this wonderful place. We let the waiters choose tapas for us as well as other dishes. Such delicious food, and the presentation of the main dishes matched any five star restaurant. This little pub is always packed for lunch and dinner, so we always tried to go early. If you order a drink, you will receive a free tapa. Please don't miss this place but do not get it confused with another pub with "Bodegas" in its name that is on another street close by.

“Authentic Tapas Experience”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

As I stood at the bar with my jamon and pimentos tapas and my free tapas of potato tortilla and olives (it's tradition in Granada to be served a free tapas with every drink order) locals came in with empty plastic or glass bottles to get them filled with wine, sangria or vermouth. It felt extremely authentic and I felt very welcome.

“Very good tapas, busy and popular, worth the visit!”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Pros:
Food- Recommended by our guides and our host. All the classic tapas on the menu. Had the tortilla de patatas which was ok, had the salmon + avocado + caviar tapas, trout + avocado + caviar which were both delicious. Manchego cheese was good as usual. Iberico ham was also nice.
Price- Fair. About 3-4 euros per tapas but good-sized tapas.
Atmosphere- Good but very crowded, both locals and tourists.

Cons:
Food- Lomo was really dry and not tasty. Could not even finish the racion portion which was very generous.
Service- Rude as they mention in the guides.
Tables- Very few tables as usual. We had to eat at the bar on a small corner. Tried as a party of 5 to go back for a 2nd night but did not manage to find a spot to stand and eat.

Recommendation:
A should-definitely try!
As the guides mention, do not mistake Bodegas Castaneda for the Antigua Bodegas Castaneda which is right around the corner.
