“Nice Modern Hotel, but a Walk to the City Center”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

I stayed in this hotel recently during a driving tour of southern Spain. The hotel is very nice and modern. The bathrooms are big, with a full tub (not usual for hotels in Spain) and the beds were very comfortable. The service at the front desk was great (they even booked us an Alhambra tour), but breakfast is not included. Just about the only problem I had with this hotel was the 20 minute walk through "gritty" Granada before you hit the sights. It's not a horrible walk, and there are some cafes along the way to stop and stare at the locals, but the hotel is so big and roomy, it deserves a better location.

Room Tip: The hotel is in the area of the university it can get a little noisy, so ask for a room that is not...

This is a modern hotel, not in city centre, more of a residential area, and has all the amenities. But it's a case of looks over function. One of the key tests for a quality hotel is the level of disturbance from other guest noise. Here, EVERY sound from the hall outside the room door comes into the room because of the design. Add to this the fact that all doors have return spring hinges to shut the doors after opening, and on every door the springs squeal when opened, then the door bangs when shut, and you have a full orchestral percussion department from about 6.30 when the first guests start to leave. When the maids arrive, it moves to more of an in house rave, with out the fun and dancing, unless you consider the irate sleep deprived clients dancing round their rooms in rage at being driven from their slumbers.
One other point, the bathroom door is frosted glass, and there are gaps all round, so if you are staying in a twin, with a room mate, don't worry about privacy, enjoy the fact that you get to add to the orchestral wonders of the banging doors with you own wind department whilst sitting on the loo and sharing it or alternatively enjoying your mates tunes, together.

Stay elsewhere, there are much better places in Granada.

I was here one night as the chaperone of a college student tour group. The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. Only 3-4 years old. Elevators worked fine. Flat screen TV and free WiFi. Bathroom was clean and modern. It is not really in the City Center; we always arrived and left by bus. The included breakfast and dinner were basic.

Granada is an amazing place to visit and this hotel wasn't quite as amazing. The front counter help was average upon arrival. Our room smelled of smoke something fierce. When we went back to tell them that our non-smoking room was far from it, they were in awe saying that all the rooms were non-smoking. After convincing them that the room did in fact smell like an ashtray they informed us that there were no other rooms available and they would "clean" it. After some reluctance they admitted that there was another room but it would not be available for at least half an hour. We went to the bar and returned to a slightly less smoke smelling room and decided to well deal with it. 2 for 2. It was tolerable after leaving the windows open our first night. We were there the last week of September and the rooftop jacuzzi was already closed, which was the reason we booked the hotel to begin with. Other than that the beds were comfortable and the furnishings were quite nice.

This is the perfect hotel if you are going to the University area of the city. The price-to-quality relation is probably the best I have found in some time. The room was huge and nicely decorated. Easily 50 m-sq in size. The bathroom was also large: with a tub and separate shower. All very clean and modern. Internet connection was free with the room. The people at the front desk were nice and efficient and gave me perfect advise on how to move around. It was a bit out of the centre of the city, but there was a bus stop nearby. I highly recommend this hotel. I was very impressed.
