My husband and I really enjoyed this. Honestly it wasn't quite what I expected but none the less it was a great time. I thought the tasting and the tour would take place outside in an Olive grove but what actually happens is you meet sort of on a pathway where there are olive trees and learn some interesting things about the growing process and olive trees in general, then you visit one of Spain's oldest olive mills (12th to 14th century) which is very cool and learn about the old process of creating olive oil. Right next door is a small shop where the tasting takes place which was very interesting and well done by our tour guide. We did the oil tasting and the wine tasting as well, which I think makes it more fun. We actually had a lot of laughs, we met some nice people. It's always fun to meet people on these types of tours and that is one of the reasons we chose to go. It's a nice outing and totally hassle free because they will pick you up at your hotel and bring you right back, so you don't have to worry about doing a wine/sherry tasting and driving. It also gave us an opportunity to bring back some "olive oil gifts" which they don't push you to buy at all, however if you want to, there is a nice assortment of oils to purchase that you have tried if you like. It's not like wine tastings that we've done in a beautiful vineyard but it is a good time if you want to do something low key and hassle free that doesn't take up your entire day. We liked it!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We visited one of the oldest extant oil mills in Spain. Although no longer in use, all the equipment is original and the site dates back 500 years or so. Our guide was lovely and really knew her stuff from the olive production piece to the usage of the end product. At the end of the tour, she offered, and analyzed, five different oils for our tasting.
If you are in to olive oil, have an interest in ancient milling technique, or like agriculture in general, I would highly recommend this tour. We did the 3 hours version and it was perfect.

My niece and I took this tour while visiting Granada, and we really enjoyed it. Violetta (the guide) was great -- very informative and engaging. We learned a great deal about olives and olive oil, and got to see some beautiful sights. We especially enjoyed the chance to taste five different olive oils (and to learn how to properly taste olive oil). We did the six hour version, which includes a lunch (lots of choices, so definitely something for everyone) and the chance to go to a beautiful scenic overlook. We also did the add-on wine tasting, which was very good as well.

We started out on a day pouring with rain but as the OliveOilTour pickup van left Granada and headed towards the countryside, the skies began to lighten up. We stopped at an olive grove and, wandered with Violetta under cloudy skies, talking about the nearby olive and almond trees. Next we drove to a small village where Violetta showed us a 15th century olive oil mill and explained how olives were manually converted to oil (a job there was hard work!). Our final stop was a small shop where we tasted 5 different olive oils with bread and condiments and learned that Spain produces over 40% of the world’s olive oil, also that 75% of Spain’s olives are grown in Andalucia. Some of us had worked up an appetite for shopping. We weren’t obliged or pressured in any way but there were many good choices in the shop for gifts to take home: a selection of top grade olive oil, cosmetics and ceramics in which to serve olives. When we left the shop, the sun was shining! The tour was a great ½+ day activity we were glad we included in our itinerary.

I went on the Olive Oil tour with my mom, two sisters, and my sister husband and we were all very pleased with the tour. We learned a lot about olives and how olive oil is made (but not too much to be bored) and got to see a lot of the old machinery they used to use to make it. Then we did the tasting and we were even more impressed. Our guide was awesome at explaining everything while we were having a blast. We also did the wine tasting option which was cool because of the variety that they selected to showcase. Olives, bread, ham, and cheese were given to us to snack on during the oil and wine tasting. All 5 of us definitely recommend it!
