Our stay here has to be the highlight of our entire 15 day trip in Spain. Everything was PERFECT - the quality of the rooms, space, and the spectacular views overlooking the entire city of Granada. Staff was extremely courteous helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of the decor in the hotel is remarkable and it is well located - 15 minutes walk to downtown else a convenient bus ride from right across the street.

The AlHambra is a mere 10 minute walk from the hotel.

The highlight of course is a leisurely afternoon sitting on the terrace bar, soaking the sun, admiring the views and the sunset - whilst sipping a Sangria all afternoon - and the Sangria is the genuine stuff & deadly - so be careful - don't order jugfulls.

With a good price from Hotels.com we found the Alhambra Palace to be the perfect place to stay in Granada. The view from our room was fabulous. It matches the view from the lobby/bar and the restaurant. Service was fabulous from finding a parking space for our car to all the meals. We had dinner and breakfast which was included. If you are going to the Alhambra this is the place to stay.

We stayed at the Hotel Alhambra Palace in September. It was easy to get to by car and we parked for free at the entrance the entire three days of our stay. (There are a limited number of these free spaces available, though, and if they're taken hotel guests receive a discounted rate at the Alhambra lot.) Both a bus stop and a taxi stand are located across from the hotel, which make it easy to go anywhere in the city.

The lobby and public spaces of the hotel are lavishly decorated in neo-Moorish style. The terrace and bar area overlook the city of Granada and the view is impressive at night. Drinks and snacks are fairly expensive, but you're paying for the panorama as well as your order.

We had a standard room, which was clean, but it and the bathroom were both on the small side. The bathroom was adequate but wasn't the most convenient for hair drying, etc. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The personalized welcome message on the flat screen TV was a nice surprise. We used the laundry service and our clothes were returned to us cleaned and pressed and neatly folded in a basket. They actually looked like brand new clothes!

But the best thing, by far, was the absolutely huge private terrace that our two sets of french doors opened onto. Most of the rooms here have a very small balcony that overlooks either the city or the Alhambra hill. Two rooms, however, each have an incredibly large patio that overlooks the Alhambra. We somehow received one of those rooms. What a rare treat it was to sit peacefully on our own terrace, taking in the view for as long as we wanted with no interruptions of any kind! The Alhambra is flood-lit at night and we had ring side seats all night long! It was breathtaking!

We stayed in this hotel while on a tour. It is indeed a palace, from the tile work and soft seating in the common areas of the lobby to the terrace bar's view of Grenada and the comfort of our room. We enjoyed everything about it, from its convenient location near to the Alhambra (if you don't mind a little uphill walk) and its relative proximity to the central part of downtown Grenada (if you don't mind a bit longer walk down and up) to reading in the common area of the lobby and a late night drink from the bar. Our room was large, well-appointed, and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was expansive. Highly recommended for those who can afford it.

This is a truly great hotel with ,perhaps, some of the best city views in the world and a near perfect location for the Alhambra, but there are things to beware of.

The Moorish decor of this hotel is in itself a reason to vist ,both the public areas and the rooms are exceptional decorated. the hotel ts easy to find but beware of GPS directions which take you through some of the narrowest streets you will ever see,a more direct and ease route exists.

Basicly speaking this is a great 4 star hotel, and reflects that rating form the staff to the restaurant to the rooms and the views but take care and be aware of a few things that could spoil the experience.

Firstly, a room at the back is a must, the rooms at the back and south east are poor rooms with no views, very ordinary indeed in fact. It will cost more for a good room but you WILL notice a huge difference. We booked online from Cordoba and got a reasonable rate with breakfast but we also got a S/E facing room, no view, road noise, shower did not work well, mini bar fridge did not work, hair dryer did not work!! a real bad start. we complained and the staff could not have been more helpful, the manager called the room within mins and we were moved,by the staff, to a mini suite at no extra cost. This room was a revelation, as big as two normal hotel rooms with a moorish style tiled bathroom and all the extras you could ask for from sweets to slippers, and the view! A small balcony looking out onto the town that was worth sitting all day and looking at,the sunset was amazing.
secondly, parking, there is very little on site parking, they do offer discounted parking(13euros a day) at the alhambra 24hr car park but be aware, this is a mile away! There is a bus or taxi availabe to reach this area.
Third. once you park the car leave it alone, seeing the city and getting to the alhambra is best done by taxi or bus, both are cheap and plentyful, driving in the town is extreamly difficult and parking impossible. eating in town is easy and there are some great places to eat but you can NOT walk into town, for those who dont know, the Alhamba stands on a huge hill overlooking the city and the hotel is ajoining the palace.
Fourth..a word about the alhamba for those who dont know(and seems to be most who visit). It is, ofcourse, one iof the great historical places in the world to visit but you CAN NOT walk up and by a ticket and just walk in. It is best to book at least two weeks in advance. you can not buy tickets one day for the next . There are a few tickets available on each day but you MUST be at the ticket office by 7am latest and wait till it opens at 8am to have any chance of a ticket. The Alhambra palace hotel is a help here because its so close,I got to the ticket office at 7am and there were over a hundred people in the line already! When the office opened at 8am they anounce the number of tickets available that day, when I was there it was 400,there were at least that many people in line by 8am. In the high season there may be no tickets at all on some days.

Bottom line the alhambra palace hotel to a gem if you get a good room, the louges are great and there is a long veranda where you can soak up the view with a coffee or drink and the prices are reasonable, its handy for the alhambra but the town is drive away, would i stay there again? yes but ive seen the Alhambra so why would I go back to the top of the hill?

Easy to find hotel and very responsive parking valets who parked our car for free. The girls on the front desk were rather grumpy and gave the impression of being terribly busy and important. However we were shown to our room by a delightful porter and shown how to use the facilities. The room was a little on the small side but very comfortable bed with egyptian cotton linen. Bathroom was clean and shower pressure was excellent. We had a fabulous view of the city below us and if you are thinking of staying here you have to bear in mind you have a walk down to the city, which is delightful but a very steep climb back. Free wi-fi access in the room. There is an excellent bus service which stops right outside the hotel. The location was great for the Alhambra. We took a tour and were picked up at the hotel in the morning. There is a bar with a wonderful view of the city. Grand hotel with grand prices if you wish to eat/drink but excellent discreet service.
