“Good location if you are going to the Alahambra”
Reviewed 22 June 2012

Quality-price is good. The rooms are clean they have an underground car park (18 euro a day) and its very close to the entrance of the Alahambra ( porta della Justitia). You can collect your tickets at 5 mins walk from te hotel at the library of te Alahambra instead of going to the main entrance the day before or the same day. It's a steep way up so bring some good walking shoes ladies.

Dear TonykIreland, thank you for your comments about Hotel Monjas del Carmen and you are right about bringing good walking shoes to visit Granada, Alhambra and Albayzin, because there are many hills.

As the title says, this was a great little hotel in a great area for visiting the city.

The room was spotless, very contemporary, with comfy beds and nice big shower, which did leak a bit admittedly, but we were only staying 2 nights, so weren't too fussed. The location was absolutely spot on, in between the new and old town (even though the old town wasn't really worth the effort), just off the plaza nueva close to loads of bars and restaurants, also very close to the road leading up to the alhambra. All in all, great stay, would definitely recommend!

Stayed for three nights midweek in June. Chose hotel for its location and value and it did not disappoint. We had a 'front' room above a restaurant with outside seating and opposite a popular bar. On one night (a night before a public holiday) this was noisy till around 1pm, the other two nights were quiet. I imagine it could also be noisy at the weekend. The room itself was smallish but comfortable and perfectly adequate for a short stay. reception was good.

Room Tip: If you are early to bed try to avoid a front room

We stayed here for only 1 nite to visit the Alhambra and were very happy with the location, cleanliness and the efficient reception of this hotel.
Just meters from Plaza Nueva there are plenty of eateries taxis and buses nearby. The Granada Cathedral is just around the corner and ½ km away Navas road suggested by the hotel has so many restaurants for Tapas etc for lunch and dinner.

The Monjas del Carmen is situated down a beautiful street just off the Plaza Nueva; the perfect location if, like us, you want to spend your time sightseeing and frequenting various bars. The hotel is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Modern hotel. Very nice and large rooms. In the center of the old city, close the Alhambra.
Underground parking. Very friendly frontdesk officers.
A lot of restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood. So take your breakfast outside because the service in the restaurant by the hotel is not realy friendly.
