Hotel Comfort Dauro 2

My wife and I stayed at the Dauro II for 3 nights in mid-June. We loved the location as it was right on the very lively Navas street. We were on the second floor and our room faced Navas. At first, we were worried there would be noise at night, but the room was very quiet. Also, heavy curtains on the windows help block out the sun during siesta time! Great looking older style hotel with a little courtyard and a nice open lobby.

It was a nice big room, plenty of space, very clean, and a huge bathroom with a very good shower (which you will need if you go to Granada in the summer - very hot).

The front desk staff was very nice and gave us directions and bus routes to the wonderful Granada attractions. They also have free internet which helped as we brought our iPhones.

The hotel is also within easy walking distances of several plazas with good restaurants. Our favorite was Los Diamantes tapas bar right on Navas street about 20 yards from the hotel (don't let the crowd deter you. Go in and ask for a cana(beer) - you'll get amazing free tapas and a great experience.) This bar and La Alhambra (should be a wonder of the world, buy your tickets ahead of time) were the highlights of our trip.

We stayed in the Dauro II for 9 nights in June/July 2011 and were very pleased with our choice. We were given a room on the fourth floor with a small terrace, which was nice to sit out on in the evening. Other reviewers mentioned noise from the tapas bars below but we had no problem at all with this. Calle Navas is a lively exciting street in a fantastic situation in Granada. Granada has a real buzz, especially at night and we loved it. Back to the hotel - our room was great, really comfortable beds, cleaned very well each day, air con, a good sized bathroom with great shower, plenty of room to hang clothes and store suitcases etc. We didn't try the breakfast - we enjoyed sitting outside in cafes, especially as it got so hot later in the day when we couldn't. The bar annexed to the hotel does good food. I have nothing negative to say - loved it.

Room Tip: The fourth floor rooms seem to have terraces but the lift doesn't reach them, you need to walk u...

We went to Granada because my daughter was finishing a month long study there. We loved this hotel, it was pretty, clean, and in a terrific location.
We did have trouble finding it ( had renatal car) it is tucked back for the main street. We had directions but didn't realize it was 'back there' that is my only complaint...
The staff was very helpful, and friendly.

The hotel is a nightmare to find if your in a car as its located down a narrow walkway off the road. you have to leave the car blocking street and unload luggage kids etc and walk to hotel hoping car doesnt get towed whilst your away. the car park is 300 mts away and costs 16 euros a day. The rooms are very nice, good aircon,we had small child with pushchair and were given room where we had to use the lift initially and then carry pushchair up 2 flights of stairs to our room, so not child or disabled friendly when i requested alternative met with were busy take it or leave it. the breakfast is nice but not worth the money 10 euros as there are loads of lovely little cafes nearby.on departure i needed to check my emails for next hotel location they have internet in reception. i had to buy 1 hour for 3 euros, i said i only need 2 minutes again the take it or leave it look. the cafes and bars outside need avoiding as there are many others much nicer within 5 mins walk.

We are sorry that your stay at our hotel has not been well appreciated. There are times that a room change is impossible, but indeed when you need space for a cot.
In reference to car access and parking,we would like to point out to other customers that in Plaza Marina Pineda there are two reserved space for loading and unloading of 30 meters each for the exclusive use of guests. From this square to the Hotel back door there are only a few meters.
You can leave the car there and we take care to park in our garage located in the Hotel Dauro. Please visit our web page to further information.
Thank you for your review

This was a nice 3 star hotel, in the center of Granada, very close to all the main sites. There is also convenient public transportation to the Alhambra. We were given a top floor room with a veranda with a stunning view. The breakfast was adequate and the staff was polite and helpful, although they didn't speak very good english, which is very common in hotels in spain. Actually that was the only poblem we had. They couldn't explain sufficiently where we could park our car and we ended up walking about 200m with all our luggage to the hotel. There was also a leaking toilet flush, which was repaired within half an hour since we reported it to reception. Also notice that the elevator doesn't go up to the top floor, so you'll have to carry your luggage through the stairs for one floor.

Room Tip: The elevator doesn't go up the top floor

This hotel was one of the best hotels we stayed at in Spain. The staff was super friendly and accomodating, the room was spotless, huge, and comfortable and the hotel was in a fantastic location for food and sightseeing. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
