“Tremendous value and location”
Reviewed 13 November 2011

This hotel is far more charming than one usually associates with the Best Western brand, certainly BW's in the US. The location is fabulous and the rooms are clean and well-equipped with free Wifi, room safe, and quality furnishings and fixtures. It offers tremendous value. The staff were friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough about the location. It's an easy bus or cab ride from the train station. (Busses are easy in Granada as you can buy multi-ride cards directly from the drivers for a 2Euro deposit.)

This hotel is truly impossible to reach by car! We spent an hour and a half driving around in circles within a mile or two of the hotel, trying in vain to follow the GPS, only to have it "re-calculate" again and again. The only way that we were able to find the place was by keeping the ( extremely helpful) hotel staff member on the phone for 25 minutes, dictating step-by step directions. When we arrived at the hotel, we were directed to a parking lot, only to find that it was full and not taking any more customers! The staff member called several other lots and they too were full. The lot where we eventually parked cost a small fortune! Once we were finally settled at the hotel, we found a comfortable, inviting room and very accommodating staff. So if you don't have a car, this is a great hotel for the money. If you do, stay elsewhere!

Access to downtown is much more complicated since the works for the metro. We recommend you to print in our website our link to Google Maps.

It's easy: Leave the motorway at exit 129, go to the city center by Recogidas Street (restricted and monitored access by cameras, but allowed for hotels). Take the street with bows slightly to the right (Angel Ganivet Street) and drive to the end, until Plaza Mariana. End of the journey.

Park your car in one of two spaces reserved for hotels guests on both sides of Plaza Mariana, just opposite Ecomar Travel Agency. The Hotel is located 20 meters away and has an entrance by Andorra Street. We have free valet parking for vehicles that spend the night in our garage which is located in the Hotel Dauro at 300 mts.
Some GPS and Google Maps will avoid passing through Calle Recogidas and will diverted you to a much more complicated route. If you fail to enter by motorway exit 129, your route will be much more complicated.

Granada is a wonderful town. Historical and lively. But the traffic and finding a parking place is a nightmare. If you intend to stay in a hotel like Dauro II, you have to take into account that you can not find it, even with GPS. You can not unload even at the hotel's backdoor. You can not go to your car in less than 10min if you need to fetch something, and it can not be delivered to you in less than 20min when you check-out! If you are lucky enough to have it brought to the back-door, you have to hurry before several cars line up behind yours in less than a minute! Otherwise, the hotel is in a very attractive part of the town, with many bars and restaurants. In fact, the hotel runs a good one itself. You are in walking distance to almost all historical monuments, and 10min to Alahambra, either by taxi or on foot if you are fit. Each room is different, spacious enough, but a little worn-out. Clean though, no problem with that. If you are with a car, do not stay anywhere around mid-town, including this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms looking front have street restaurants as view, others face another building 3m across.

We stayed at this hotel for one night while visiting Granada. The hotel is clean and at a very good location, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and buses to the al-Hambra. The staff was friendly and helpful. I used airline miles and got a really good deal for the room.

To keep it simple I have decided this time to just write out the pros and the cons of this hotel:

Good Stuff:
*Great location
*Staff was helpfull and friendly especially the 2 girls
*cheap price

Things I did not like so much:
*I would not recommend the restaurant of the hotel
*Wireless Lan did not seem to work in our room
*Room you stay at looks a bit old

To summarize it was OK for the price I would recommend it to someone if he stays there for a night but when I would come to Granada again I might try something different.

Great dinning room option. Excellent buffet breakfast with lots of choices. Much better than standard European breakfast. Actually had breakfast items Americans are used to; not just bread and coffee. Hot pot for tea always available. Also instant coffee, but no real coffee for free - must go to the cafe and order Cafe Americano.

Room Tip: Next to a side street that is noisy, with lots of cafes. Get a higher floor room if you want it qui...
