Stayed at this hotel in mid april for two nights . It has a great location and is ideal as a low budget hotel .Only downside is that web site appears to indicate that hotel has a car park and it it is only when you arrive that you find that they direct you to an underground car park a few streets away which costs 25 euros a night. Not so bad if you you know this in advance as with the next 3 nights in Cordoba

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking plaza

This place is great! It has location, great price, clean, safe, comfortable and quite. Rafael at the front desk was the GREATEST. He told us where to find good restaurants and shopping. Our Daughter-in-law needed a doctor, which he found and had the doctor at the hotel in short order. This place is a gem!

Room Tip: this hotel is a winner

We couldn't have asked for a more reasonably priced, well located, clean and comfortable place to stay. We walked across the street to catch the shuttle up to Alhambra. Delicious tapas bars are just steps away.

After a LONG day of travel (Madrid to Córdoba to Granada), this place was a breath of fresh air. The front desk was EXCEPTIONALLY friendly, in a country where friendliness seems to be the rule. My daughter and I were a bit queasy from an intestinal bug, and he immediately proffered free Gatorades to us, and hustled to get us into our rooms and to sleep. Bed was SUPER comfy, with what felt like memory foam and doubled sheets...ahhh.... I took the single room (3 of us travelling together) because the double had a hint of cigarette smoke, but MINOR at best. The only complaint I had was the somewhat poor ventilation in the bath from the inadequate exhaust fan, but this is also very minor. The room itself was hip and modern, the lighting dim but fine for reading in bed, and VERY clean. Location is ideal for Alhambra, food, drink and sightseeing. Kudos!

I can't say enough about the kindness of the front desk workers at this hotel- they were pleasant and accommodating. Also the hotel is literally at the base of the walk up to Alhambra so it's location is perfect for the main site in Granada, and not far from the Moorish quarter either.

Macia Plaza offers clean, comfortable accommodations for sightseeing in Granada. The location is excellent, the airport bus drops you off a block away and there is a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. You can easily take a taxi to Al Hambra or to San Nicolas view point. Also the hotel is well situated for walking to the Royal Chapel.
The rooms are small, but the beds are very comfortable. We didn't have any light in our room since it was on the inside, but the rooms facing the street are likely to be noisy - or so I have heard.
Several cheap food options abound for those on a budget.

Great (i.e. UNESCO World Heritage) location at a very reasonable price. Surprisingly quiet at night despite being right on the Plaza Nueva. Just make sure to skip the hotel's 7 euro/person breakfast. You can definitely get something better/less expensive at one of the numerous cafes/restaurants (less than) a couple of blocks from the hotel.

PS If you have a rental car, it may be better (or certainly easier) to stay at their sister hotel (Macia Gran Via) about 5 blocks away since it has a (pay) parking garage with ample parking directly beneath it.
