“Fantastic Granada Hotel”
Reviewed 21 June 2009

Brilliant hotel with fantastic rooms and service. We stayed for 5 nights and found that this was the perfect base for our visit. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a huge bed. We are non smokers, we requested a non smoking room and thats exactly what we got. The rooms also have free wifi.
Not being in the city centre was perfect as the hotel was quiet when we wanted to sleep but town was only a ten minute walk. It is also right by the last stop of the airport bus which is a bargin at 3 euros.
We would stay there again in a hearbeat and recommend it to anyone.

The hotel was quite luxurious, we had a nice, newly renovated room.
Around the hotel we could find free parking along the streets, it was in a safe area, so we did not have to worry about our rental car being damaged or broken into.
The city centre is a 10-15min walk.
Hotel and room was very clean and the hotel staff was friendly too.

We had a similar experience to another reviewer. We booked a non-smoking room, and the room reeked of smoke. We tried to open the window, but it was broken. We were awakened during the night by smoking such that we had to put towels under the door. When we tried to speak to the desk about this, they were completely unreceptive and not helpful at all. We also had a confirmation that said breakfast was included and the front desk refused to honor this. There is a good breakfast, but it is very expensive 13 euro per person. If you want just a continental breakfast, you cannot get that until 10 am. The location is ok. It is not that far from the center of town, but the walk is not easy--requires crossing a highway.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May, the temp was 35c so the pool was much needed after a few hours in the city heat...........only it was closed for the first 3 days for repairs. Who schedules repair work for a a week in May?? We only booked this hotel as it is a fair step from the centre for its pool so this was a major disappointment.

The hotel seems to market itself as a business rather than leisure hotel, no problem with this other than the 24 euro per day charge for TV/Internet combined. Nearly a 100 quid to watch the news/ film if you are staying 4 days. No thanks......

Other than those two things you can't complain. Its very clean and the breakfast if all inclusive is very good value. The service at the desk is a little relaxed and on our visit, not much English spoken, but enough to get by, but we should learn Spanish I guess.

It is a 1/2 mile walk to Plaza Nuevo/Bib Rambla where the best tapas bars are, but its an easy flat walk. If you get the bus from the airport, stay on until the very last stop, the eighth, and the hotel is just round the corner adjacent the Expo Centre.

Overall, an average stay. If the pool is something you would like, I would check its open before you book.

Recommend the view of the Alhambra from Plaza St Nicolas, with the Sierra Nevada in the backdrop. Amazing.

This is an elegant and luxurious hotel. A little outside the main sightseeing part of the city but within an easy half hour walk of the Cathedral. The room was well-appointed and roomy for three adults. The staff was helpful and professional. The breakfast was well worth the money. The parking on site was steep but covered and the spaces were larger than expected in Spain.

I stayed at the Saray Hotel in Granada in March 2009 together with my parents. We booked two rooms. When we arrived the hotel was almost full and we were upgraded to Junior Suites, which were excellent. They were large, modern and clean. The hotel was refurbished in 2008. We booked on the web directly with the hotel and the room rates were very good.
The hotel is located near the Congress Palace and is within walking distance from the city centre (my parents who are over seventy years old could walk with no problems). There is a bus stop nearby with regular buses to the City Centre. The airport bus also stops very close to the hotel.
I had dinner on the first evening in the restaurant - food was ok, but too expensive in my view. Stayed at the bar every night and enjoyed a drink.
Overall, the hotel is excellent value for money and I would recommend it.

Our room was facing another building's windows. Even though it is a walking distance to the center, there was nothing around the hotel, restaurants, shops or anything. Finding a free parking in the street was difficult. I felt the hotel had no sole! Travel tour companies like insight vacation and globus use this hotel. Tickets for the Alhamra Castle was sold out for two days?!
