This is a really pleasant hotel - spotlessly clean and we had a spacious junior suite with a very large terrace. Excellent position for exploring Granada - and helpful staff at all times. Especially at the front desk. BUT breakfast was terrible. Twice we came down to a dining room with tables loaded with dirty crockery and with nowhere for us to sit. Once seated the breakfast was a total disappointment - the fruit was tired and bruised - the bread baskets not kept topped up - coffee ok. Our breakfast experiences were the only cloud on this otherwise good experience. Room service speedy and good. Do stay there - but consider going out for breakfast!!

Room Tip: It is probably not a good idea to be in the front - too noisy.

Highly recommend you take a taxi to the hotel, fare should costs around €8.
Hotel is centrally located, supermarket which is located in Il Corte Ingles, is right across the road.
You are within walking distance of the Granada Cathedral and the river.
Visit the hotel's roof top on the 6th floor for a lovely view of the city with snow capped mountains at the back.
If you are looking for a quick swim, don't bother...the pool is not in use.
Request for the room with a view of the city...else you will get a room with a view of the wall of the next building.
It was overall an excellent stay. Rooms are spotless and the bathroom is big.
Worth your money.

This is a very nice hotel, well up to standard. They gave us an inner room, which we found unfitting and they changed it for a better one the next day.
Helpful staff and good location- easy walk to the restaurants and center and, of course, the Il Corte Ingles right opposite

Room Tip: Don't take rooms ending with 06 and 07

We got a room on the front of the hotel - gorgeous balcony with an amazing view of the city and the mountains. Absolutely fabulous!! The room itself was nice enough and clean. The hotel is in a nice, central area. We had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Dinner was good, breakfast was okay.

I can't say enough good things about Carmen Hotel. The hotel was in walking distance from the city center and the price/value was phenomenal! The rooms were comfortable and spacious, with welcoming and relaxing colors and fabrics. The rooftop terrace was awesome - I wish we could have spent more time up there, but we did manage to take a dip in the pool and enjoy some (overpriced) drinks and take in the cool night air on our first of three nights in Granada. I would definitely recommend the hotel and hope to go back soon!

We had a great stay at Carmen Hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent with a lot of restaurants and pubs surrounding it, the service is wonderful and helps you in whatever you need, and the food at the buffet is exquisite, specially traditional Spanish gastronomy. I strongly recommend this hotel to everybody :)

This hotel has a great central location. It is spotlessly clean, but pretty basic, and the four star rating is tough to justify. However, breakfast is very good. Lots of choice, and for the money, good value. Masses of fresh fruit, which was very welcome. As usual, coffee and tea fairly foul. We didn't eat there in the evenings, although can recommend the coffee shop next door, which has super coffee. The staff that we saw were pleasant, but the reception staff didn't go out of their way to be helpful. Our room had a view of a side street - if you could call it a view - and it was really noisy during the night, with loads of passers by shouting and so on, and this was a mid week stay. Would hate to be there at the weekend. And there was also a power cut for some hours, which meant that the somewhat struggling air conditioning was non-existent. It's hard to know how the air con would manage in the summer. Bathrooms were fine though, and the water pressure good. This hotel is fine if you don't intend to spent much time there and can sleep through any noise levels.

Room Tip: Get away from the side streets, and I would recommend higher floors. Lower ones are noisy. Standard...
