“Granada central location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

A very warm welcome. Nice quiet room at the rear of the hotel. Ideally situated for getting about on foot in central Granada with easy access to the Cathedral, Plaza Nuevo and main shopping areas. If needed taxis were right outside the door.
Did not use the restaurant facilities as there was so much more on the doorstep and in the area.
Would recommend as a central location for seeing Granada.

Room Tip: For a quieter room ask for a room at the rear. There is no nice view but peaceful, especially if you...

We stayed at this hotel for 2-nights in Oct. 2013 and got it through Hotwire's "Secret" Hotel rate and paid $67 a night (plus taxes, which were a lot). The best selling point of this hotel is the location. The bus stop is right out in front which takes you to the main bus station and train station and airport. It is right across from a plaza and there are tons of restaurants right when you step outside. As for the room, it was pretty basic. The bathroom was surprisingly modern and nice but the bedroom was very minimal. If you are very particular on your bed (it was very hard) and the room (small) and tv (monitor) then I don't recommend this hotel. But if you are like us and need a clean room and bathroom (yes) and care more about location than how nice the room is then I would recommend this place. It was also a few blocks away from the cathedral and shopping and you can walk everywhere from this location.

This hotel really gives you value for money. Perfect location in Granada, easy to reach shopping, eatingplaces and transport to sightseeing-places, We got a very spacious room in art deco-style, as the rest of the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull.
We went by car and there was a parkingplace very nearby. It is very hard til drive directly to the hotel. The traffic in Granada is very busy and there were lots of road works at the time we stayed there.
We'll be back.

The hotel was in a great location with a wonderful view of the mountains once you step outside. It was near the city center and conveniently close to the old town. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was adequate and the rooms were adequate in size. the air conditioning was in good condition, we actually had to turn it down at night. Rooms were kept clean. There are lots of places to eat nearby and it is also close to an El Corte Ingles shop. Although our room didn't face the street, I would recommend this hotel to travelers.

The only problem we had was getting there if you follow the walking directions from the train station, which we did. It was such a long route that we got following the directions from Google when we could have cut it short by walking through the old town. Getting a taxi to get to the hotel is so worth it as it is inexpensive.

Hotel Juan Miguel is a comfortable, clean, and well-located hotel, close to the Alhambra. It can be easily be reached by bus from the airport (as at May 2013 €3 for the trip, and it's the "Centro", or 5th stop). From where the bus-stops, the hotel is on the same side of the road, about 20m ahead on the right.

I had a single room - the bed was in the nook to the left (with room to easily get in & out of bed, which isn't always true in some hotels!), the bedding was clean, the bedspread was a little worn, but that was clearly due to having been well-laundered on a regular basis. Just inside the door to the left was a small writing desk, with a mirror above, and a small fridge below, directly in front of the door was a spacious closet, with a safe, and extra pillow/blanket, and to the right, a spacious bathroom. It had a shower over bath, toilet and bidet, with a large mirror, and separate shelf over the sink.

The windows faced internally (i.e. view to other buildings), but there are privacy curtains in the main room, and the bathroom window is patterned (non-see-through) glass. The internal-facing windows also meant that the room was extremely quiet - no road noise. There is a little bit of sound-bleed between floors - once or twice I heard someone moving in the room above me. The room also had a TV & a luggage rack (big enough for a full-sized suitcase)

The breakfast buffet was included with my booking, and was a good start to the day - cereals, yoghurt, fresh and dried fruit, bacon & eggs in a bain marie, a variety of cold meats and cheeses, plus sliced bread for toasting, bread rolls and pastries. To drink, there were three choices of juice, and coffee from a machine (not great, but plenty of caffeine!)

The hotel itself is a 15-20min walk (depending on how fit you are!) uphill to the Alhambra. There are a few restaurants on the same street, and plenty of options on surrounding streets. Good value, clean, tidy. I would stay here again.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Juan Miguel for two nights. The people at reception were very nice and helpful. The lobby was a little worn but clean. Our room was VERY drab and dark, with one tiny, barred window facing a rooftop with HVAC stuff on it. But it was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and bright. The doors seemed thin but there were never many people in the hallway when we were there, so it wasn't an issue. If you had loud people nearby, it might be a problem. The location is excellent! Right in the heart of town, an easy walk to anywhere you might want to go. For $72 a night, we felt it was quite a deal.
