“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2012

This hotel is situated perfectly in the centre of Granada and with limited parking near the centre it, unlike many hotels, also provides valet parking at a small daily fee. With the car parked the centre is only 5 minutes walk.
Beautifully refurbished historic building with part 14th and part 16th century ex-monastery which provides a beautiful inner courtyard (cloister) for dining or just relaxing.
The restaurant provides a very good, up-market, menu from a world class chef, unfortunately very limited and expensive.
Overall - A great hotel with friendly staff in the right place. (will stay again)

Exceptional, Clean, Courteous and modern up to date facilities. Make sure you ask to stay at the former convent which is now part of the hotel. Wonderful experience! Dinners are prepared by a world class chef

We spent one night here and really enjoyed our stay.

We thought the hotel was very luxurious. The air conditioning was effective and quiet and the windows well insulated, as we could not hear the traffic outside. The staff were very helpful. The courtyard is beautiful and the food was great - the breakfast choice ranged from American pancakes to gorgeous bread with cold meats.

It is well positioned, close to the Cathedral and the Albayzin area and about 25 mins walk from Alhambra.

We felt our stay here was a real treat.

We stayed 2 nights in the AC Palacio hotel in Granada and we were extremely pleased with the hotel and the service we received.

The hotel itself is a mix of modern and old with the hotel built around an historic building. The interior courtyard is absolutely gorgeous and it gets a lot of sunlight during the day. It's a great place to grab a drink or read a book.

Our room was located in the front facade of the hotel but it was very quiet and we were never bothered by noise. The room was average in size but well furnished with a large bathroom.

We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was good albeit a bit pricey but they had a great wine list.

Service was overall very good everywhere in the hotel. Location is also very good, minutes away from all the main sights.

Overall we were very happy with our stay at AC Palacio.

We booked this hotel for 1 night during our travels around cities in the south of Spain, and although the most expensive of the cities it was the biggest let down. First of all I must give my thanks to the staff because they couldn't do more for us, very helpful. When we booked this hotel we did so based on the splendour displayed in all the pictures showing what the hotel looked like (as I'm sure most people did) however what I did not expect was that we would never actually get to see that side of the hotel. It's as if the hotel has 2 sides - one that I would give just 3 stars and the other that has 5 stars... The reception area is bland and plain and the rooms off from reception do not feel like they are part of the 5 star hotel. Our room was run down and very average and not worth the money. Just off from reception there is a stairway that leads down to another reception area and the infamous courtyard however we wouldn't have even realised it was there unless I had needed to use the toilets once we'd checked out. Our experience was not 5 star at all...
Also at first we struggled to get to this hotel by car but it turns out you can drive down the road and once your there the hotel send your number plate reg to the police so you don't get a fine for driving on a road for buses & taxis only.

Situated on the Gran Colon the hotel is perfectly located for walking around the historic town and enjoying the clamour of the city while providing a calm haven when you are ready to rest and put your feet up. No parking and the drop off requires you to drive up a no entry road but once there the valet took the car and we didn't see it until we left. At 20 euro a day for the car it is quite steep but worth it for peace of mind. The new part of the hotel is contemporary but it seems to preserve and protect the lovely old part and dinner in the quiet of the central courtyard accompanied by a classical guitarist and painist was just magical. Food was great but a very expensive meal. Breakfast is only 10 euros and while not spectacular it had everything you need and the service was excellent. Staff very helpful. Free Wifi in the lobby and charged by the day or week for your room.

Room Tip: Our room and two layers of double glazed windows so we heard nothing and the room temperature was pe...
