This is a beautiful hotel arrayed around a central patio, beautiful large romantic rooms, and good service. The absolute best thing about it is its location, an easy walk to the cathedral, the shopping, and all the lovely little piazzas in Granada in which to spend your time. And easy to get the bus to the Alhambra when you want to do the one thing you are in Granada to do (and by all means, do not miss the Alhambra). On the other hand, you are paying top dollar for it. The rooms do have some quirks-- bad lighting for example, but nothing that would keep you away. So stay here but cut costs by eating breakfast at one of the two very near by nice cafeterias on Calle Colon, don't bring a car, and skip taxis. Its location, location, and location, but well worth it in this wonderful city.

This hotel was nice, good room, double pained windows, no noise even though our room faced the street, it was very quiet. The rooms were clean, good bathroom, good bed and pillows.
The staff at the front dest was friendly and helpful. The three reasons I will not give this hotel a great rating, breakfast was 22 E per person, had to pay for wifi and the parking rate is 21.18 when it states online that it is 18E. When I asked the girl at the front desk about the parking rate and showed her that my paper said 18 and she charged me 21.18 she made not effort to credit me the difference. This I find not to be great service. We did not stay in the charming part, but in the newer section, and the rooms were still good.
This hotel is centrally located and great for walking everywhere.

Room Tip: We had rooms 315 and 316 and they were both very good in terms of sleep quality

I was thinking about staying at the parador, but with 2 rooms for family of four, it would cost an arm and a leg. I was very happy that I chose AC Palacio. I started emailing with them before I arrived there and Javier, one of the receptionist, arranged a car transportation for me from Granada to Cordoba. Upon arrival, he confirmed the transportation, made couple of reservations for dinner, and was very, very helpful. The rooms that we were given were excellent. They were all in the convent section, immaculately renovated. My husband loved the terrace that came with it. The two things that dampened my satisfaction was: the first morning, there was a bit group at the breakfast and the service was much to be desired. Coffee pot was never refilled. By second morning, the group was gone, and we had a civilized breakfast. Second night (June 8th), there was party at the terrace until after midnight. You know how Spanish people talk! I didn't complain but a lot of early sleepers were complaining about it. All and all, I would recommend this hotel, and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 226, with the terrace is an excellent choice.

We were two couples and a single in our 70's, staying two nights in this hotel in mid May, 2013. Having read reviews before our trip, we requested rooms in the older section of the hotel and were not disappointed. The rooms were on the top floor and the exposed beam ceilings were beautiful. The exterior wall was lined with high windows which allowed a view of the old interior courtyard. The bathrooms were updated, modern, clean and spacious. We hunted all over the room for the safe but after a call to the front desk, learned the room did not have one. No alarm clocks either. Safes, however, are available adjacent to the lobby reception desk. Also, there is no wi-fi in the rooms but wi-fi is available in the lobby. At night, the rooms are poorly lit. We found it disappointing for a five star hotel not to have in-room wi-fi or safes. Also, the advertized "free" mini bar is free only if you take the single bottle of water......the rest is charged as usual.
We chose to include breakfast and were not disappointed. The restaurant is elegantly appointed to match nicely with the surrounding old convent architecture. Breakfast was nicely presented and varied and, as usual, offered the option of having eggs or omelets prepared for you direct from the kitchen.
The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel location is on a busy street but our rooms in the rear were not at all noisy. It is close to the cathedral but requires transportation to the Alhambra.
We loved the hotel but felt a little put off by the lack of minor ammenities one expects in a hotel of this caliber and price range.

Room Tip: The advice of others is well-taken. Request a room in the old section of the hotel facing the court...

This is a lovely hotel on the Gran Via within easy walking distance of the cathedral and the bus stop for the ride up to the Alhambra (Bus30). The property is a converted convent with beautiful courtyard, very comfortable , quiet and well-appointed rooms and an excellent restaurant.

Great location near the cathedral and the city center. Valet parking. The hotel is in a busy street where the buses are coming and going, but in our room on the fourth floor, we do not notice. It is a tasteful and cozy room. Shower in the bath, poor ventilation. To my surprise, however, some basic things are missing in this five star hotel: there is no writing or something that looks like: so working from the bank on the coffee table. There is no safe. There are no tissues. The air conditioning does not work, gives heat. The safety lock on the door was broken. In the booklet of the AC hotels is "free minibar", but in the mini bar hangs a card with prices. WiFi 12 euro per 24 hours.
The ancient part of the hotel is a picture and beautifully restored.
In the hotel is restaurant El Claustro. The cook has been given a high culinary prize in 2009. Fine cuisine with fresh local products still based on the original Spanish cuisine. Cozy location and helpful service under the expert guidance of Marco. We eat there all three nights. Super. All in all a very nice and pleasant hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room

My husband and I stayed here during our one-day visit to Granada. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we didn't have the time in our busy itinerary. The superior room we stayed in was in the old convent. Although it had no external window, the room was charming and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful. The hotel was a short ride from the train station, a short walk to the center of town (near restaurants and various sights), and a taxi ride of about 10 minutes to the Alhambra.

Room Tip: 120 in the old convent was a wonderful room, but no external window -- faced courtyard, from which i...
