“Great hotel in very good central location”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

We stayed two nights on a holiday visit to Granada. When we arrived our car was parked for us and the luggage was brought to our room. The service was very good and friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and clean. Can only recommend this hotel - a relaxing oasis in the middle of Granada.

Absolutely fanyastic meal in the resturant - ate here cos Sunday not the best nite to eat out I resturants in Granada where a fair few close.

I have never rated a resturant as 10 out of 10 but the food and setting both perfect. Lovely Iberian check and steak.

And the hotel service spot on.

We found this hotel to be really pretty as used to be a monastery with arches and old architecture, much like the rest of Granada. Excellent location, right next to the cathedral and an airport bus (Gonzales and costs just 3 euro) from right outside Arrivals takes you right there with a 3minute walk straight down the Gran Via. We had breakfast at the hotel but plenty of cafes for breakfasts around. Room and bathroom were very modern but still looked authentic though a little on the dark side. We had a lovely court side view but got a tad noisy with birds early in the morning and also hotel staff banging doors and stomping down the corridor whilst cleaning. However, that didn't at all deter it from a really nice hotel, definitely recommend it and would stay there again if I visited the area again.

We stayed in this hotel over Holy Week. Impossible to beat the location in Granada. We luckily got to the hotel before the processions started for the day and were able to valet the car before the street shut down. The hotel is like a hacienda with a courtyard in the middle and rooms surrounding it. It has a very historic feel and even graves of people who used to live there! Very cool. The rooms are all somewhat unique in layout because of the nature of the property. We would stay here again no doubt, but there are a few issues and missing pieces to make this a 5 star. And as Marriott Gold members there are a few things you need to know. Since there is no lounge on the property you get free continental breakfast and for $10 Euros more per person per day you get a hot breakfast. This is a pretty lousy deal. The hot breakfast consists of being able to order a couple of eggs any way you like with a few pieces of bacon. The food was good, but overall this hotel had the worst breakfast selection of any of the hotels we stayed at on this trip.

The Pros and Cons:
1. Location, location, location- Very hard to beat. We were in the center of the action for Holy Week. The Alhambra was not a far walk and a very cheap/quick cab ride.
2. The historical feel of the hotel- Great atmosphere and vibe. The layout for the hotel was unique and made the hotel a true boutique property.
3. Good Service- Very helpful front desk, bellman, and valet. All were very helpful and made the stay very easy.

Cons:
1. The rooms were a bit odd and hard to get to- This would not be a great hotel to stay at if you are elderly. We had to go up and down two flights of stairs and through a bit of a maze to get to our room. Also the room had a strange layout. Was close to a courtyard that was very noisy in the early morning. There was no safe in the room? Also, the room did not have working AC and so if you opened the window you had less privacy.
2. Breakfast- As explained above the breakfast lacked options and was not very good. Plus being charged 10 Euro a day per person as a Marriott Gold Member to pay for a couple of tasty eggs was not worth it and a rip off.

Overall, our experience was great in Granada. Lovely place and amazing during Holy Week. We would stay here again and this could be a 5 star property with a little more attention to detail and improvement to breakfast. Also it is worth mentioning the Spa and workout facilities. They have a nice Turkish bath and workout room. Top Notch.

An excellent hotel in the center of Granada. Short walking distance from the cathedral and the tombs if the catholic kings and the old town. Excellent service, well preserved property (a past convent/monastery). A very good Marriott brand hotel. Most recommended!

We stayed here and we were very pleased with everything, especially the beds. For me the bed was totally amazing and I had the best night´s sleep I have ever had it was so comfortable and spacious. Ok our view from our room was not the best, a brick wall, but the way the room was set up was perfect for us, lovely bathroom, separate seating area and office! I would recommend this hotel for its location, it was near the Cathedral and we had a fantastic time in Granada. We didn´t eat at the hotel, as we were in the city we went out to eat but on our return we sat in the very relaxing bar with our complementary glass of wind and tapa. We will be back again soon.

I stayed in this former convent. The room was very modern and comfortable. I was initially worried about the noise in my first floor, street facing room, but it was very quiet. The double set of windows certainly contributed to the quiet.
The location is convenient on a main street, Gran Via.
