We arrived hot and tired to be greeted by smiling staff who immediately made us feel welcome. Our rooms were upgraded to superior rooms overlooking a small, flower filled courtyard. There was more than one could possibly want by way of facilities, such as air con and toiletries. My room had two TVs, but far more importantly, there was water freely available in the mini-bar. The main hotel bar is in the cloister of the former convent. It was a perfect location to escape from the 35 heat. All around the hotel were quiet sitting areas, making it feel like home. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with a wide variety to suit everyone. Unlike many hotels, the coffee at breakfast was as good as that served throughout the day. It was too hot to try the main restaurant, but the bar food was good and freshly prepared. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were efficient and helpful, whatever and whenever the requests. We couldn't have been better looked after anywhere. The hotel itself is in a perfect location near the cathedral and close to bus routes to the Alhambra. If it hadn't been so hot, it would have been easy to walk to all the main sights. We'd love to go back.

Room Tip: The rooms in the old part of the hotel have loads of character.

Everything about this hotel was terrific: the rate I got on marriott.com, the location on Gran Via, the historic building it's in, the Restaurante El Claustro (sit and have a cold Alhambra beer and tapas on their terrace), the great breakfast with standard fare as well as local specialties and homemade pastries, and the very helpful, accommodating staff (Spaniards who all spoke excellent English). At check-in, I was acknowledged as a marriott rewards gold level member and offered a room upgrade (to a suite- rm 313, looking out on Gran Via, but with the soundproofed windows there was no noise). Will stay here again for sure!!!

We stayed two nights on a holiday visit to Granada. When we arrived our car was parked for us and the luggage was brought to our room. The service was very good and friendly. Our room was nicely decorated and clean. Can only recommend this hotel - a relaxing oasis in the middle of Granada.

Absolutely fanyastic meal in the resturant - ate here cos Sunday not the best nite to eat out I resturants in Granada where a fair few close.

I have never rated a resturant as 10 out of 10 but the food and setting both perfect. Lovely Iberian check and steak.

And the hotel service spot on.

We found this hotel to be really pretty as used to be a monastery with arches and old architecture, much like the rest of Granada. Excellent location, right next to the cathedral and an airport bus (Gonzales and costs just 3 euro) from right outside Arrivals takes you right there with a 3minute walk straight down the Gran Via. We had breakfast at the hotel but plenty of cafes for breakfasts around. Room and bathroom were very modern but still looked authentic though a little on the dark side. We had a lovely court side view but got a tad noisy with birds early in the morning and also hotel staff banging doors and stomping down the corridor whilst cleaning. However, that didn't at all deter it from a really nice hotel, definitely recommend it and would stay there again if I visited the area again.
