A grand old place and in the right place If Alhambra was your reason to visit. All a bit old and tired and general quality of food, service etc average. Pleasant base to walk down to town from and easy to get a taxi back. If you want help with bags forget it but all in the joys of travel.
The setting on a hill in gardens with views made a relaxing change. Breakfast average to poor as an inclusion though lunch setting and food and service fine.

This is in the most gorgeous setting. In fact, the grounds are so beautiful they brought me to tears. Our room was right next to the swimming pool which is really not for swimming but full of fish which wa cool but made our room smell kind of like fish. The room was large and the bathroom was fine but this place really needs to add a few more touches to charge $500 a night. The view and the grounds are worth it for a night but if you are staying longer in Granada, I would recommend staying here for one evening and then staying somewhere with nicer rooms and more reasonable rates. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets were old. The parlors are tastefully decorated and the courtyards are gorgeous. The grounds were a plus 5 but the rooms are average at best.

We went here about 30 years ago, and just had to go back. It was as brilliant as we remembered. However, as someone else has pointed out, there are probably too many "modern" touches. For instance, in the great restaurant, the chairs look as though they come from a 2013 design competition - and these were not the winners. I would have preferred something more traditional.
However, the Terrace with its views of the Generalife and its palace was enough to make us forget our minor quibbles.
As for getting there, we just asked, and received, reasonably accurate directions, first from the Parador's website, then from the locals.
Do sit on the Terrace and have a glass or cup of something.
In my opinion, it is one of those "must visit" locations.
In the restaurant, there was even entertainment - a much botoxed American lady with her partner. The lady just did not understand Spanish food. Poor dear. She should get out more.
None of it is cheap!

I visited for one night. Arrived early & our room was ready early. We were not given instructions how to get there so left our car in the main carpark for the Alhambra (which we picked up later). The desk were very helpful (& found a physio to give my daughter who had had an injury a massage). The terrace had fantastic views & adequate lunch.
