Wife and I drove from one parador to another for three weeks!! This was by far the most rustic and beautiful of all of the paradors!!! location, food and staff were ideal for our Spanish Holiday!! We are planning on doing another such trip for the souther part of spain, but we will somehow accommodate a stop at this parador again. Gracias!!!

Staying at once of the palaces of the Alhambra sounded too fantastic to miss. We were wrong. For the price, this is an extremely average hotel. I would not stay here again. Visiting the Alhambra was amazing and is an absolute must see. However, there are plenty of other interesting and lovely hotels in Granada that would work at least as well as a home base for your visit to the Alhambra.
The Parador does not have several of the amenities that one expects from a high end hotel (no gym, no bar), and service was lukewarm at best (maybe I needed to spend even more than $400/night to get good service). On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the bed linens were very nice and husband said breakfast was good. Visit the hotel to look around, but no need to spend the night.

Dear Jennifer,

Thank you for sharing this review and the positive remarks. We regret that your experience with us has not been completely satisfactory. Due to the historical and artistic building it is not possible to install a gym. Let us explain that the Parador has a cafetería and a big terrace bar with amazing views over the Generalife Palace and gardens, medieval walls of Granada, Alabayzin district etc.
Best regards.

Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed in the style of the converted convent. It’s quiet and cool.

The concierge and reception staff are wonderful. They helped us with guides and restaurants and shipping and buying tickets.

The bar downstairs outside is fabulous, offers a wonderful views of The Generalife.

The restaurant attached to the bar offers authentic cuisine from the region and is seasonal. It also offers the same gorgeous views of the Generalife as the sun sets on the walls and changes colours. The staff in the restaurant are very, very good.

Really an excellent experience.

we stayed in the modern part- very good rooms. The parador is beautiful and an interesting walk around the older part is very good. It is in the Alhambra complex, so cannot be beaten for location. Reception staff were very helpful.
altogether a stunning experience.

The Parador de Granada was one of my favorite hotels on a month long trip to Spain, Italy and Portugal. The setting is so peaceful after all the touring of the Alhambra and Generalfe.

Our room was very nice and seemed newly remodeled. We had a view of the Generalife which was lovely. We overlooked the restaurant which I thought was going to be a problem but it really was only a bit noisy for a short time in the morning when the tables were set up.

The thing that really set the Parador apart aside from he amazing setting was the front desk staff. I had changed my reservation so when we arrived I did not have tickets for the Nazarid Palace (which is the key place to visit). All online tickets were booked for the day we were going to be there but Hugo at the front desk managed to get me a Granada Pass which included all the sites and saved us standing in any lines. He went above and beyond his job to get the tickets. also, a front desk agent the next day (whose name I do not remember) continued to help me secure the tickets and called the Granada Pass office as there had been a glitch in online ordering.

The restaurant service was a bit slow but that was less of a problem than it might have been as it was lovely to sit out on the patio and look across the vista. The food was fine but somewhat unremarkable.

I HIGHLY recommend staying at the Parador de Granada for a one of a kind experience.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view towards the Alhambra/Generalife on the second floor
