The view of the Alhumbra from our room was impossible to beat; the facilities were excellent; and the location next to the main square, within walking distance of many good tapas bars and bus routes was extremely convenient. The daily afternoon tea was an added bonus, which most people staying at the hotel participated in.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the view of the Alhumbra - we were lucky to have it... I'm not sure that m...

The hotel is located in a beautiful, charming old building. It has an excellent central location (but prepare for a short walk to the hotel from the taxi drop-off point). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and reasonably quiet; we could see the Alhambra out of our window. We enjoyed the excellent and reasonably priced breakfast in their beautiful patio. On a more negative note, for the first night the extra bed for our son was a very cranky and uncomfortable extensible armchair; after complaining we received a much nicer bed for the following nights. The Wi-Fi Internet connection is poor at times and barely adequate at other times.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms (on the east side) have Alhambra views. If you plan to sleep later, the upper floo...

Visible charm and good location to Alhambra. But, hotel was so hot in July, unlike sister hotel in Seville. When we complained about our very hot room located on the top floor way in the back, they claimed it was working fine. After another complaint we slept with a noisy stand alone unit that leaked all over our room and did not do a good job. Good luck in summer heat in Granada. Hotel is hot in general as well.

Hotel is centrally located to the sites in Granada. We arrived in the afternoon, and easily found the hotel. The hotel room was very nice, but small. We loved the court yard of the hotel, and the breakfast was really good. We found a couple of nice little restaurants for dinner and gelato nearby.

We had 3 people in a superior room. It was tight, but fine.

We were a little surprised when our taxi stopped in the middle of a busy square and then we proceeded to drag our suitcases through an alley uphill with a few steps (not too many). Hotel is in an alleyway, but is kind of charming. Again, after check-in, we had to drag our suitcases up a full flight of stairs, since our room was not on the side that had an elevator. Young lady who checked us in was willing to carry suitcases, but we didn't have the heart to let her do it. Room was not as beautiful or grand as some of the pictures I have seen online. Our window overlooked a courtyard which served as kind of a lobby, where people could just sit and relax. Staff was friendly and nice. Location was superb! Very centrally located and we walked everywhere.

Room Tip: Confirm beforehand whether you will be getting a room which requires you to take suitcases up a flig...

Excellent central location for smooth access to all sites (15 minute uphill plod to Alhambra, friendly/ helpful/ knowledgeable reception, room comfortable, quiet/ calm & beautifully decorated, lovely old building, afternoon tea (offered) in courtyard is enchanting

Room Tip: Think standard rooms overlook the courtyard, which can be a bit of a privacy issue.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Casa 1800 in Granada. Absolutely fabulous experience, can't recommend Casa 1800 highly enough. Great location, on the edge of the Albaicin (old quarter), but also very close to The Alhambra palace - safe easy walking to loads of places. The architecture, atmosphere and character of the hotel is exquisite, with very tasteful high quality fittings throughout - feels just like a high class Moroccan riad. Strongly recommend the breakfasts (and 'free' high tea great too). The reception staff spoke good English, were helpful, enthusiastic and very charming (thanks again, Jose and Maria). Would love to go back to Granada again and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Indeed, would love to visit Seville one day too and since they have a Casa 1800 there too you can guess where we will make a point of staying!

Room Tip: Each room has similarly high quality fittings, but the room shapes / sizes and natural light are ...
