This hotel had a lot to live up to as we spent my previous birthday in the sister hotel in Seville. Sadly although we had no major issues we felt that the experience did not equal our expectations. Our room had a lovely view of the Alhambra but was very small and a bit claustrophobic. In Seville we had the Junior suite with our own terrace and jacuzzi for the same cost. The staff at both hotels are great but in Granada the reception is in a side room so we didn't really get to see a lot of them. In Seville you passed the reception every time you went in and out so we're greeted often. A lovely touch is that on my birthday both hotels gave me a bottle of Cava. Sadly in Granada it arrived late at night after we had been for dinner and as we were leaving the following day we never had a chance to drink it. Finally, probably because we were at the top of the hotel when we came back after 2pm all three days, the room wasn't serviced yet. As we wanted a couple of hours to recharge our batteries we never actually had our room done. Not a big issue as I'm sure if we had asked they would have sorted out but 2 is quite late not to have finished rooms. In conclusion a good hotel with helpful staff but we probably wouldn't stay here again if we returned to Granada.

Although not as luxurious - and higher-priced - than its sister property in Seville, this is a classic example of paying for prime location. At the base of the hill next to the Alhambra, the hotel is close to the oldest part of the city. Our room was a little on the small side (and, strangely enough, had an odd odor, which I am going to attribute to a highly sensitive nose and/or an old, old building) but the staff was extremely courteous and gave excellent directions in advance to park our car and hire a taxi to bring us to the hotel. Like its sister property, breakfast was good and inexpensive, and the afternoon tea (included) was a nice treat. Bottled water in the minibar was available at no charge, as was Wi-Fi.

Personally, I'd rather pay a little more and stay close to the older part of the city, so this was definitely worth it. Imagine wandering out of our hotel and walking down the road five minutes to dine in the shadow of Alhambra at night - you can't beat that!

Let me start with saying the best part of the hotel is the staff and particularly Jose in at the front desk. He was far more than the person checking us in and giving maps and directions - he is Mr Granada. This man knows all and was very helpful in giving us advice on where to go and what to do. We had a couple of minor issues, not related to the hotel, and he simply jumped in and took over. That said, I give my ratings based on the level of hotel. For a three star hotel this establishment deserves a five star rating from me. The hotel is small (a plus for me), clean (very important), and had all of the basic amenities. The room we stayed in was smaller than I prefer. The only thing missing was a tissue box. The location of the hotel is really quite good. It is located smack in the middle of town. All destinations lead to and from the hotel. The only issue, and this is really quite minor, is that the taxi cannot drop you off in front for he hotel. However, the taxi did drop us off within very close walking distance to the hotel. While at first I was apprehensive in reality it was for nothing. You'll be safe booking here so go ahead and say Hi to Jose.

We recently spent three nights at Casa 1800. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite which was a nice surprise. The room was large, comfortable, beautifully furnished and had a great bathroom.
However, the room was very dark with only a single small window at one end of the room. This wouldn’t have been a problem except the hotel has a system where you insert your room card to turn on the lights. When you return to the room – down a poorly lit hallway – you open the door to a very dark room and we had trouble finding the slot to insert the room card to get the lights on. We resorted to using the flashlight app on our smartphones to light the way. This was a major inconvenience and one the hotel should address.
The public spaces of the hotel are beautiful. The large atrium is a great place for breakfast, afternoon tea or just a quiet drink.
The location is good with the hotel just a few hundred feet from Plaza Nueva. Unfortunately, most of those steps are up a safe but less than attractive alley.

The 6 of us found our three rooms to be comfortable although small, and the staff was generally helpful, however, the Hotel does have some issues that are subjective in nature because although they were troublesome to our group, they might not affect you or your use of this hotel.

The good: Very quaint décor, with a beautiful open air terrace in the center. They provide a free afternoon "tea time" of sodas, water, cheeses, etc. The staff was friendly and generally helpful. The rooms were clean and AC comfortable. The hotel is fairly centrally located in the city.

The bad: They charge way too much for breakfast. The small amount of choices and quality offered for breakfast should be free. We ate elsewhere. The beds were hard for me, and the rooms were small for the price. .

The ugly: If you drive to Granada as we did, prepare for a hell-ish journey trying to find their parking garage on the other side of town. They provide notes on how to find it, but the 6 of us could not make much out of them. Once you park, you have to take a taxi ( two for the six of us and luggage) to their hotel. But the fun is not over. Then you get to roll your own luggage a couple of blocks because the taxi cannot reach the hotel as the streets are too small. For all this, you pay 19 euro parking fee plus the taxi.

Room Tip: Get rooms off the road in the back of the hotel in order to sleep in. Cobblestone and suitcase wheel...

It is always anxious-making to book a hotel, sight unseen, for a group of people, and I really wanted to get it right as my son's Japanese in-laws were with us and my brother and his wife and daughter from the US.
We were all so delighted by this hotel. The beautiful, historic Spanish interior with its light-flooding atrium. The comfortable, very clean bedrooms, the complimentary afternoon tea served in the atrium and the delightful staff.
I would go back very happily indeed.

We stayed at Hotel Casa in Granada for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is a little hard to find, but it is beautiful and in a great location. They have afternoon tea in the afternoon with small sandwiches and fruit, which was great. I am looking forward to going back.
