“Superb Location and Helpful Staff”

We chose this hotel based on its location in the old part of town and the positive reviews shown on Trip Advisor. We had good communication with the hotel prior to our visit and they arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport to take us to the hotel for a reasonable 30Eu. We had chosen a "superior room" which turned out to be on the first floor facing the riad style courtyard. The room was fine but be aware you will hear guests getting their breakfast if you have a room in this part of the hotel. Our first night in the room was fine but on the second night we were disturbed by a mysterious buzzing sound. We were at a loss as to what it could be and we weren't using the air conditioning. Eventually I went down to reception at 6:30 in the morning to complain. Maria was particularly helpful and apologised profusely for our disturbed night and immediately found us another room on the same floor. After breakfast we decided to see if there was an upgrade available to a deluxe room. There was so we decided to take this and our luggage was moved for us while we spent the morning in town. On check out we were given one complimentary night in this room without having to pay for the upgrade which was a nice gesture. There was only one other issue in that on one day our room wasn't serviced. Again very apologetic staff.

The room was very comfortable with a view of the Alhambra and a good sized bathroom with both bath and shower. The usual minibar and safe were in the wardrobe and bottled water was free.

As mentioned in other reviews we would have preferred to have the breakfast included in the price rather than a complimentary afternoon tea which I believe most people only used because it was there. However it did give you the opportunity to stock up on bottled water and canned drinks!

This is great hotel for exploring the old town of Granada. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms well appointed and comfortable. Just needs to sort out a few niggles and do bed and breakfast to it it superb!

by car the hotel is challengin to finf despite the map the hotel attached to an email. But Jose from the front desk offered an outstanding service! The rooms are small but well -maintained. Nice patio in a old but stylish building. Afternoon tea offered by the hotel. Perfect location opposite the Alhambra however not recomended for disablead people. no direct acess by car!

Room was very well appointed, staff were VERY helpful with reservations/suggestions/recommendations to guides, sites, restaurants etc, front desk staff even helped with scanning/e-mailing some business documents.

Room Tip: I didn't use the fitness room. The breakfast food was always fresh with a lot of variety.

This hotel had a lot to live up to as we spent my previous birthday in the sister hotel in Seville. Sadly although we had no major issues we felt that the experience did not equal our expectations. Our room had a lovely view of the Alhambra but was very small and a bit claustrophobic. In Seville we had the Junior suite with our own terrace and jacuzzi for the same cost. The staff at both hotels are great but in Granada the reception is in a side room so we didn't really get to see a lot of them. In Seville you passed the reception every time you went in and out so we're greeted often. A lovely touch is that on my birthday both hotels gave me a bottle of Cava. Sadly in Granada it arrived late at night after we had been for dinner and as we were leaving the following day we never had a chance to drink it. Finally, probably because we were at the top of the hotel when we came back after 2pm all three days, the room wasn't serviced yet. As we wanted a couple of hours to recharge our batteries we never actually had our room done. Not a big issue as I'm sure if we had asked they would have sorted out but 2 is quite late not to have finished rooms. In conclusion a good hotel with helpful staff but we probably wouldn't stay here again if we returned to Granada.

Although not as luxurious - and higher-priced - than its sister property in Seville, this is a classic example of paying for prime location. At the base of the hill next to the Alhambra, the hotel is close to the oldest part of the city. Our room was a little on the small side (and, strangely enough, had an odd odor, which I am going to attribute to a highly sensitive nose and/or an old, old building) but the staff was extremely courteous and gave excellent directions in advance to park our car and hire a taxi to bring us to the hotel. Like its sister property, breakfast was good and inexpensive, and the afternoon tea (included) was a nice treat. Bottled water in the minibar was available at no charge, as was Wi-Fi.

Personally, I'd rather pay a little more and stay close to the older part of the city, so this was definitely worth it. Imagine wandering out of our hotel and walking down the road five minutes to dine in the shadow of Alhambra at night - you can't beat that!

Let me start with saying the best part of the hotel is the staff and particularly Jose in at the front desk. He was far more than the person checking us in and giving maps and directions - he is Mr Granada. This man knows all and was very helpful in giving us advice on where to go and what to do. We had a couple of minor issues, not related to the hotel, and he simply jumped in and took over. That said, I give my ratings based on the level of hotel. For a three star hotel this establishment deserves a five star rating from me. The hotel is small (a plus for me), clean (very important), and had all of the basic amenities. The room we stayed in was smaller than I prefer. The only thing missing was a tissue box. The location of the hotel is really quite good. It is located smack in the middle of town. All destinations lead to and from the hotel. The only issue, and this is really quite minor, is that the taxi cannot drop you off in front for he hotel. However, the taxi did drop us off within very close walking distance to the hotel. While at first I was apprehensive in reality it was for nothing. You'll be safe booking here so go ahead and say Hi to Jose.

We recently spent three nights at Casa 1800. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite which was a nice surprise. The room was large, comfortable, beautifully furnished and had a great bathroom.
However, the room was very dark with only a single small window at one end of the room. This wouldn’t have been a problem except the hotel has a system where you insert your room card to turn on the lights. When you return to the room – down a poorly lit hallway – you open the door to a very dark room and we had trouble finding the slot to insert the room card to get the lights on. We resorted to using the flashlight app on our smartphones to light the way. This was a major inconvenience and one the hotel should address.
The public spaces of the hotel are beautiful. The large atrium is a great place for breakfast, afternoon tea or just a quiet drink.
The location is good with the hotel just a few hundred feet from Plaza Nueva. Unfortunately, most of those steps are up a safe but less than attractive alley.
