“Magical Stay at Hotel Casa 1800”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

Absolutely lovely historical hotel nestled in the old part of Granada giving the feeling of having travelled back in time. We were greeted by a very helpful, smiling Maria that was only too glad to organise help for our luggage, give us the address of a very good local restaurant and generally assist.
The hotel is perfectly located to visit the Alhambra and its divine gardens as well as the Sacramonto area which witness the birth of Flamenco with its Gipsies leaving in the caves.
Hotel was clean, linen absolutely beautiful, very comfortable bed , brand new bathroom, all round a real pleasure.
Will definitely go back to Granada and this hotel.

This hotel was tucked away in the heart of the town. It wasn't right on the street so you didn't here anything that was going on the main street. The hotel was small but it had a certain character about it. The hotel had great customer service. The rooms were nice and clean, not too spacious but it didn't matter we were only in the room to sleep. The Alhambra was in walking distance if you like walking and hiking up a hills. The hotel recommended a good flamenco show in the caves, it was awesome. The hotel has "Tea Time" this is were you can sit in their lobby area and socialize with your travel group or other hotel guest(s). The food at this time is FREE. Cant' pass this up!!

Room Tip: All the rooms were great the windows opened up to their atrium/lobby area were there was lots of sun...

We went there on our honeymoon. Casa 1800 is truly a gem, a true boutique hotel.
Firstly it is within walking distance to Granada's shopping district and it is also located at the foot of Alhambra. Our diet is halal food and I must say that searching for halal food near this hotel is very easy. Most of the halal restaurants and teterias are located within a 10 minutes walk, the nearest being a minute walk away.
When we first entered the hotel we were very much awed by the very traditional Spanish deco. We were also greeted very warmly by the receptionist. In fact, all the staff were really, really wonderful. We truly felt at home.
We had a room that faced the beautiful courtyard, where you can have breakfast or their free afternoon tea everyday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
One thing that my husband and I agreed on is that even though it could be really cold outside, even without the heater, the room had a nice temperature. We reckon that it had to do with the insulation of the building, the way the hotel was built. We even had our windows thrown open and could hear soothing music coming from the courtyard. We did not even have to switch on our room heater for our entire 6 days there.
We are in Madrid now and my husband had accidentally left his shirt at the hotel. The receptionist emailed my husband on the same day we left for madrid and despatched the shirt to us to our hotel in Madrid. For this, we are truly grateful for their hospitality and thoughtfulness.
We are definitely coming back here again.

We spent two nights at Hotel Casa 1800 Granada. We cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay here! I booked the room on-line about 2 months in advance of our visit. I received a confirmation email immediately from the hotel, which included directions on how to acquire Alhambra tickets in advance. This recommendation well ahead of our visit proved invaluable in making our Alhambra visit magnificent!

The front desk staff was so welcoming and helpful! We had a large room that included a living room area and a modern bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The bed was so comfortable! The windows overlooked the entry courtyard, which concerned us at first. We anticipated noise from guests leaving and returning at all hours of the day and night. However, this was not an issue at all when the windows were closed. They have a very good continental breakfast, too! It was 8 Euro each, which was fine. The location is an easy walk to the main sights of Granada. It's off the main street, so anticipate walking a little ways with your bags through pedestrian only streets. However, there were many signs that pointed you in the right direction, so the chance of getting lost is minimal. Upon check-out we were allowed to store our bags for as long as we wished. I would definitely stay at Hotel Casa 1800 Granada again!

The location of the hotel for the Alhambra is great. Staff here are most helpful and the hotel itself very pretty with a lovely courtyard where you can have breakfast. Our room was on the small side but there is plenty of room to sit in the public areas . This is a good choice for a short stay in Grenada.

We stayed here for two nights recently. When I booked the hotel they quickly sent me an email about what time I would be there and gave me the closest location to have a taxi drop me off at. The staff speaks perfect english and is really friendly. The room was very clean and in great shape. Overally we really like the hotel. The only thing that was weird was at 110 euros a night you think they could throw in a croissant and cup of coffee in the morning instead of charging.
