“Great location”

This hotel is located in the protected part of town so can be difficult to get to. I recommend you not rent a car at the airport (you won’t need one in Granada) but rather take a taxi to the hotel. In fact, the hotel can arrange a car to pick you up at the airport for a cost of 35 euros. The hotel is small and looks like a medieval castle as you enter. The rooms are small but well-appointed with period furniture which fits with the character of the public areas. The building is built of concrete so rooms are quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful, both before you arrive and during your stay. Breakfast is available and features hot and cold dishes.

Room Tip: Our room was number 20, on the top floor. We had a view of the Alhambra Palace, which was particula...

Just the sort of old town charm many tourists would be looking for on a trip to such a historic city. Although mine was a fleeting visit, I found the staff helpful and friendly, the ambience of the hotel in keeping with the city and the room was comfortable with modern touches. I had a standard room which looked on to the internal courtyard - black out blinds might have been a minor improvement as would reducing the volume of the "soundtrack" in the background. Would definitely return again.

Casa 1800 benefits from a superb location, right in the heart of Granada but down a very peaceful sidestreet. We stayed in room 18, the Suite Grand DeLuxe. I cannot recommend this room highly enough; very large, beautifully furnished, characterful, a comfortable bed, and quiet at night. The only downside is the price, which is steep but worth it for a special occasion. On the positive side I'd also point to the general cleanliness and feel of the hotel, and the exceptionally helpful staff all of whom are young, speak good English, and are a pleasure to deal with.
This is not a perfect hotel as there are one or two niggles. Paying the price we did I found it bizarre that breakfast wasn't included in the room price. The showers in the room are modern and stylish, but the lack of any shelf to put bottles on was a pain. And I would think twice about booking a room which overlooks the central courtyard. A number of reviews quote the noise and lack of privacy when you're in one of those rooms, and having been there I can understand why that would be the case. And as a final niggle, please lose the piped music from the courtyard - rather naff and spoils a fantastic space.
In summary, and accepting the slightly negative elements referred to above, we would stay here again and would recommend the room we stayed in without hesitation.

Room Tip: Room 18 is superb. Very large, beautifully furnished, characterful, a comfortable bed, and quiet at...

We loved Casa 1800! The location was superb - a 15 minute walk to the Alhambra, 5 minutes to Plaza Nuevo. Breakfast was wonderful and so was afternoon tea. We very much enjoyed sitting in the courtyard, as well as on the bench outside our room, overlooking the courtyard.
The antique furnishings and candelabra were gorgeous.
The staff were welcoming and helped with our many questions.
The only thing that might have been better was the lighting in our room - it was dim.

Casa 1800 welcomed us warmly when we arrived at midnight, tired from a long day of travel. They were able to provide us with a chilled bottle of local white wine, and we relaxed in our room and enjoyed the night lit Alhambra. Breakfast buffet was delicious and varied - catering to several country's tastes. We were only in Granada for 24 hours, but even after check out Casa 1800 welcomed us back for afternoon tea and a relaxing place to sit prior to catching our flight out. A wonderful visit, Casa 1800 made it perfect.

Great situation in the old Arab quarter of the city. Walking distance to The Alhambra Palace if you are reasonably fit. I asked for a quiet room in our reservation & was not dissapointed.
Breakfast choice although not included in the price was good & appeared to have something for everyone. Friendly staff & I would stay there again if in the City. If you are wanting to try some Flamenco we went to La Chien Andalou a short walk away not & had a great time.

Our first night was very noisy as our room was directly over the reception area. We heard everyone as they entered or left the hotel. The hotel moved us to different room on the following night which was much better. The Alhambra is well worth the trip. Our favorite evening was at El Balcon de San Nicolas watching the sunset over the Alhambra. Be sure to get your ticket in advance for the Alhambra.
