This hotel where we are currently staying was perfect four our needs. Great location just off plaza neuve and close to the Alhambra and winding lanes of the albyzin . Yes it is true that it is tricky to find , but the hotel sends very clear instructions of where to park etc, and if you follow the instructions you can't go wrong. Like all hotels in ancient walled cobble stone cities you do need to walk up and down hill thru narrow lane ways . I love this character filled hotel.if mobility is an issue for you then perhaps this is not the best choice. Friendly staff, friendly guests, fantastic afternoon tea...we can't fault it. We stayed in a standard room, which was beautiful despite being less expensive.

Room Tip: Our room was more than adequate , and just a standard room!

Really enjoyed Hotel Casa 1800. It is a boutique hotel with a great location. The property is very nice with an old Spanish townhouse feel but with updated bathrooms and an elevator. The hotel is outstanding but the service is even better. You are located in the old part of town at the foot of the Alhambra, which is a 15-20 minute walk away. I recommend you take a cab up to the Alhambra and enjoy the walk downhill to the hotel. The old part of town is pedestrians only but plaza Nueva is only 1 block away and cabs are always available. The hotel is within walking distance of the center of Granada, the Cathedral, scenic overlook of St. Nicolas and the old town. They have a nice court yard siting area that serves breakfast and afternoon refreshments. The rooms have air conditioning and modern bathrooms, a must in Spain in my opinion. This hotel is worth a visit for a few nights. Don't be surprised that the main entrance is down a narrow alley it is all part of the charm. We arrived via train and took a taxi to just outside the street where the property is located for 8 euros, after that we walked the town. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Every room is a little different we liked the third floor.

We had a very enjoyable two night stay at this hotel but it is a little bit of a scary experience. First you or your taxi driver will have to carry your luggage the last hundred yards or so to this hotel.Second you will be confronted with many stairs to the first floor area and to some but not all of the rooms. We had booked a top floor room which required using steep stairs. We initially panicked at the thought of hauling our luggage to our room. Fortunately the staff is very experienced in getting the luggage to the rooms. It seems that the tiniest young girl can carry more luggage than a well conditioned couple in their 70s.This hotel is recommended with the reservation that I am pointing out and other limitations that are described in other reviews.

Room Tip: We had room # 26 on the Top Floor. It had a view of the Alhambra. If you are in reasonable physical...

Enoyed our stay immensely! From the nice room we had to the friendly and helpful staff to the afternoon tea each day in the courtyard, it was a great time. The hotel is located centrally to most anything you'd want to do in Granada. The staff helped us out several times with reservations and arrangements for our activities. Suggestions from the staff for dinners were all excellent choices. We probably enjoyed Granada the most of our recent trip through Spain and the choice of the Hotel Casa 1800 Granada was part of the reason.

We booked this hotel for a short stay in Granada while traveling through Spain by car. It is located in an older section of the city where cars are restricted. The hotel provides us with a discounted parking voucher at a city lot, then you must either walk or take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is lovely appearing to have been a large home at one time with a center courtyard. The rooms are decorated in a lovely old world style with modern bathrooms. The bedding was very comfortable. The young staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was an additional cost but a generous and delicious snack buffet was provided in the afternoon. We visited in April with a room in the back and slept with the window open not experiencing any of the noise other reviewers noted. Tickets to the Alhambra were sold out during our stay which was disappointing since we didn't find Granada to be all that interesting. The main streets near the hotel were a typical shoppers paradise of upscale clothing stores etc. It is a difficult city to traverse on foot due to the confusing layout of the streets.

We stayed here from 4th June 2014. The hotel is within the Abaycin area near to the Alhambra. We loved the hotel. They upgraded us to a junior suite owing to a mistake by booking.com. The room had its own private garden. A lovely room, absolutely stunning in subtle moorish design.
There was complimentary tea pastries muffins etc at 4:30pm daily for 2 hours and a great breakfast for 9 euros.
If i had to pick a negative it would be the alley way to get to the hotel meant that you had to carry luggage, prams etc to the hotel. Not far, about 25 meters up cobbled stones. Not a big issue but if you are elderly it may be a problem.
Also note the hotel is within a pedestrian zone but taxis are allowed and if you have a hire car you can pull up at the foot of the alley way but ask the hotel to then submit your car registration online to the police.
I think the location is fab. Within walking distance to food and great shopping past the lovely square... plaza nueva.
Car parking is 19.50 euros and a good 5 euro taxi ride away for the return journey.
Great service at hotel though. We didn't need our car in Granada and just left it at the car park for the 3 days we were there.

This hotel is located in the protected part of town so can be difficult to get to. I recommend you not rent a car at the airport (you won’t need one in Granada) but rather take a taxi to the hotel. In fact, the hotel can arrange a car to pick you up at the airport for a cost of 35 euros. The hotel is small and looks like a medieval castle as you enter. The rooms are small but well-appointed with period furniture which fits with the character of the public areas. The building is built of concrete so rooms are quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful, both before you arrive and during your stay. Breakfast is available and features hot and cold dishes.

Room Tip: Our room was number 20, on the top floor. We had a view of the Alhambra Palace, which was particula...
