Small but clean room & bathroom. Very good buffet dinner. A nice easy walk to the Cathedral and shopping areas. This was the last city on our tour before returning to Madrid. All the shops in Spain close for siesta at 2pm. Some reopen around 6-7pm, some don't. (Incomprehensible considering their current economic crisis). Make sure you go back at night and discover there is a whole little world of mazes and plazas within mazes. We were lucky enough to encounter a flamenco guitarist and dancers performing just outside the Cathedral at around 10:30pm. Granada turned out to be my favourite city in the 15 day Cosmos tour. I wish we could have stayed an extra day.

The smallest room I've stayed in!!!!!! We were not impressed with this room, it should have been a double, but was situated at the end of the corridor, in between the rooms on the left and right. I think they had our space. Once we entered the room with two suitcases, we had to climb over the beds to move around.

What made it even worse was being woken up by my screaming wife at 06:30 in the morning after she found our pet for the night. COCKROACH!!!!!! and fairly big bugger at that.

Now i personally don't have a problem with bugs in my garden, "BUT NOT IN MY HOTEL ROOM"!!!!!

Room Tip: As Purplesuzie has already stated, pick up a bottle of the local Gin at the bar. A little excessive...

The hotel is situated very near the centre and a short walk from the cathedral. Apparently some of our fellow passengers had issues with noise but we didn't experience this. The surrounding streets are interesting to explore with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Watch out for the gypsies outside the cathedral with their 'free' heather.

The room was clean and tidy with comfy beds but no fridge or mini bar to keep stuff cool. The bathroom was spacious compared to many but watch out in the shower as the water really fluctuated between hot and artic cold. I guess it saves water that way as you don't want to linger longer than necessary. There is free wi-fi although the signal is not very strong in many places around the building. The lounge area was comfy but restaurant is cramped, especially with a couple of tours present.

The buffet breakfast was poor and once again the orange juice was watered down and from a machine. The hot drinks were also from machines but they were ok. The variety of food on offer wasn't brilliant nor seemed to be very good quality. The included buffet dinner for our tour was better but I'd recommend eating elsewhere.

However the saving grace to all the above was the bar service which was efficient and friendly. A local gin is offered with tonic and the barman makes quite a show of preparing it. It's also very good to drink and we've come away with a bottle!! Other drinks are of course offered. The hotel would only have scored 2 / 5 had it not been for the excellent barman and his wares.

Fine for an overnight but maybe not brilliant for any longer but be sure to try the gin!

We were with a tour group. This hotel had friendly staff, lovely breakfasts and a delicious dinner. Our room had a sunny balcony. The room was small but adequate.
The bed was very comfortable. There was no fridge in the room.
It's location is good, just a short walk to the main town plaza.
Granada is beautiful, and this hotel is a good low cost place to stay.

Stayed in room 415 at the front of the hotel and kept awake by noisy youths shrieking and laughing long into the early hours.
The room was OK, clean and comfortable. the hotel was just off the circular road at the back of the Cathederal about a 15 minute walk.
We had dinner which was nice with lots of choice, but the dining room was really crowded with 3 other tour parties and half way through the meal we were interupted by a band in traditional dress playing right next to our table and flogging their CD's. It was very strange.
breakfast was again good, but also very rushed and crowded.
I wont be back to this hotel, which was a shame, because I love Granada.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

My husband and I booked an overnight stay here on May 11th as we were travelling from Malaga to our home in Castillejar. We got a good deal of 90 euros for bed, breakfast and an evening meal including a bottle of wine. We arrived at the hotel and it was very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful, too. Our room was clean and comfortable and we were looking forward to our evening meal. We went down to the rrestaurant at 8.30 and there were only 2 other people eating. We were told it was a "buffet libre". This consisted of one tray of small, whole fish, with a little sauce, one tray of chicken breast and another of sliced pork, all had a little sauce but were all dried up, there was also a tray of chips which had been kept warm so long that they were rock hard! That was it! For our starter we could choose from a tray of lettuce with a few bits of tomato and cucumber, a dish with a few slices of beetroot, a couple of hard boiled eggs still in their shells and something which looked like a potato salad but was made with leftovers. Pudding was a few slices of fresh fruit and a yoghurt!! Breakfast was dire, too, It was a very disappointing experience as we had been looking forward to a relaxing evening meal with a bottle of wine in a nice atmosphere, if we had known, we would have booked just B and B and gone to one of the numerous restaurants in Granada for our evening meal, but I think it´s safe to say we won´t be returning to Hotel Don Juan. Avoid this hotel if you are hoping for nice food!

My mum and grandad stayed in this hotel whilst visiting me in Spain. They were very impressed. Rooms were a good size and very clean. They were most impressed with the wide breakfast selection. A very popular hotel with tourists to Granada. Not too far to walk to the centre and ideally located near to Plaza Einstein if you fancy going to the local bars and pubs for a drink. Booked through a third party online was much cheaper than booking directly through the hotel. Would recommend.
