“See Flamenco Here”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

We visited for one of the improv flamenco shows. It's a different performer, improv, and you don't know what you are going to get. But it was authentic and stuffed with locals.

We did not eat here, but the show was amazing. Only one young male dancer, so if you want to make sure you see a refined couple dance, go to a tourist show. But it was beautiful. The passion of the female singer was amazing, and the group really loved being there together. There were times the improv'ed music almost fell apart, but other times it was the most beautiful thing i've ever seen or heard. It made me cry. This is art. I would not miss seeing the authentic performances in this place. One of the best things I've done.

“overlooked gem with perfect views”
Reviewed 4 June 2013

We [two 60+ foodies] found this place on tripadvisor and gave it a shot. astonished to find it almost empty at 10 pm given one of the best views of the alhambra available. we ate the snails and the kid and garlic stew as starters, then had the oxtail - the regional speciality - which was good. the kid was sublime and the snails a lot of fun. good wines at very reasonable prices and an overall great dinner - 55 euros for two. thoroughly recommended.

“Oasis in the Albeycin”
Reviewed 26 April 2013

This is one of the key places to see authentic, live Flamenco in Granada and well worth locating among the narrow streets of the Albeycin on the hillside opposite the Alhambra. There are concerts twice a week, on Thursday and Saturday nights, but Saturdays are for members (socios) only, so we called in during the day and made a reservation with the friendly owner (not great English, but very forgiving of my lousy Spanish!) for Thursday at 22.30 - 8 euros per person, a reserved seat in the music room and a glass of sangria waiting for us. Well worth it for a night of authentic flamenco.
We also enjoyed a very pleasant lunch there - the food is unexceptional, but good value and the garden/terrace is a lovely place to sit and gaze at the Alhambra across the valley.

“Fantastic Suprise Find”
Reviewed 28 December 2012

In roaming the cobble streets of Granada from the top of the hill where we saw amazing views of the Alhambra, back down to the main city streets where our hotel was located, we tried to find somewhere to eat. We had read about a few really nice restaraunts that had amazing views of the Alhambra, and finally found them both. Unfortunately, because it was mid-afternoon, they were both closed until dinner. We didn't want to eat in any of the more touristy areas, but at that point, we succumbed to the idea in our heads and started heading down the hill through the town streets. Then, as we were walking down a seemingly sparse cobble road about half way down the hill, we ran across the entry door to a restaraunt that was still open, so we decided to give it a whirl. All we wanted was a quick bite, so that that point, anything that was open was fine. But we were very satisfied with our meal. They have a HUGE outdoor patio with a partial view of the Alhambra. We were the only ones there, because it was mid-afternoon and they are definitely not on the beaten path (and from their website which boasts nighttime flamenco activites, I suspect most of their business comes at night). but what started as a quick bite turned into a fantastic late lunch. We had the most amazing tapas, including fried potates and the most wonderful marinated meat. We had a cheap bottle of red wine which was really good. It's clear that they don't cater to the day crowd much, as their patio looked empty with most of their furniture stacked when we first walked in. We had to go inside to their bar area to ask for a menu, and they had to set up an outdoor table for us with some silverware and plates. But who cares! The food was fantastic, it was tucked away up the hill with some really nice views, and I consider it a definite find. For anyone considering going here, although we went for a late lunch, I suspect the best time to go here is at night. If you look at the website, they seem to have a schedule of their nighttime entertainment. If you go during good weather months when its warm enough to be outside at night, you won't be disappointed. Their patio doesn't look like much during the day, but I have enough vision to imagine it looks fantastic at night!
