Notwithstanding the Italian roots, this will be one of most delicious destinations travelers encounter during their time in Granada, Spain. Maria, the owner/cook/matron, cooks everything daily just before opening in her humble corner. The food is fresh, flavorful, and, tantalizing to the eyes of passers-by as it sits on display in the main window. The place is not much bigger than your average master bedroom, allowing no more than 12-14 diners in at any time, so the food is lightning quick (2-5 minutes MAX). If you ask her, she will explain to you the entire menu in terms of which are her favorites and she will make recommendations. My recommendations: the lemon torta, the albondigas in her slammin' home-made sauce, the quiches, and her to-die-for pear-almond torta. Additionally, she only ever plays Spanish or Italian music to set the atmosphere, which is a refreshing deviation from the practice of most restaurants who play American hits. She will accommodate you with a warm smile, delectable yet sophisticated homemade Italian dishes, and leave you with an irresistible desire to come back for seconds, again and again! Buon appetito en España!!
