“Not a 4-star hotel”
Reviewed 11 November 2011

Location, service, cleanliness and room were all ok, if nothing exceptional.
The dining hall and the food however were the poorestI have experienced in Spain - definitely not worth 4 stars. (I travelled with a group, therefore halfboard was included but I still preferred to pay extra to go and eat elsewhere).

We spent one night at this location during a Trafalgar circuit

Our contact with staff was minimal. The room was small and not exactly modern, but ok. The location is good as everything is walkable distance

Diner on the location was ok , no more but breakfast was a real zoo with too many people at once... and not enough personnal

I was not aware of swimming pool !!!!

Large clean rooms, bit dated now. But great value. Get a taxi to the Alhambra from here though if you're visiting in hot weather!

We stayed here as part of our tour package. It was an acceptable place to stay, and the breakfast and dinner buffet were adequate. The room was clean as well as being very quiet and well insulated.

Hotel is well located , walking distance from all things to be visited in granada. There many hotels nearer to the center but for sure much more expensive. The cost of the hotel was very good for the service received. Breakfast was included and it was very good. Parking lot was well organized and quite expensive (16Euros per day).
I reccomedn this hotel very much

The Hotel Alhamar was included in our tour itinerary. While the visit to Granada is spectacular, this hotel was probably the worst of our included properties. The room was pleasant with a nice sized plasma television, and there is a supermarket and currency exchange across the street. However, small maintenance issues should be addressed. Air-conditioning was anemic and only a little better after servicing, the hair dryer didn't work , with exposed wires, and mini bar hardly cooling contents. Another annoying waste of time was a E15.00 deposit to obtain a key for room safe deposit, with an actual cost of E2.00 upon return of key upon check-out. You can probably find a better hotel than this in Granada at a similar rate.
