A secret haven in the busy city of Granada. A truly special house with equally special people to look after you. Full of antiques and curios, beautiful surroundings inside and out, serene and tranquil. You can't quite believe you are in the city.
We received a wonderful, warm welcome and ongoing attention when needed; although no need to ask! The staff and owners are all ready to help with anything you need- suggestions of where to go, what to eat and do in Granada. All our bookings were made for us. No fuss, just sorted. The rooms were really comfortable, individual and traditional but with modern twists here and there. Oil paintings, contemporary art, interesting ornaments and furnishings, dark spanish wood, crisp white linen, lots of towels, porcelain sinks, brass taps and much, much more. Claudia, Marrisa, Lorena (the lady of the house), Nicholas and others made our stay most enjoyable and most memorable. My sister, mother and good friend spent four lovely nights in this exquisite house and can't wait to go back. If you want a real and true experience of Granada then the Carmen del Cobertizo is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden are somewhat lighter but all of our rooms were more than comfortable. J...

The people who work here are so nice that I feel horrible not leaving more stars, but the truth is that we would not stay here again.I really want to give this "bed and breakfast" four stars, but I feel that 3 is appropriate. First the positives:
-The house is beautiful and unique
- in a great location
-friendly, helpful staff
-nice outdoor area with a small pool
-Free to help yourself to the bar, fruit, coffee, and tea all day long

The negatives:
-This was the first "bed and breakfast" I have visited where breakfast was not included (it costs extra)
-My wife weighs 127 lbs. and even she complained that the shower was too small(It is very annoying to keep touching the shower curtain as you try to take a shower)
-Even in cheap hotels in the U.S. you are given toiletries and bath products, however here you are provided with "costco" sized bottles of generic shampoo and gel.
Overall, I feel that the 140 euros we paid per night was too much. I was expecting a more "boutique"feel and higher quality.

We were in Granada just a few days back from the 11th - 13th April. This little B&B, tucked away in a small alley a few minutes walk from the main pedestrian walkway made our 3 night stay in Granada absolutely perfect. An old charming house, it offered us the perfect local experience with insight into a traditional style of living and culture. The owners live in the house but keep a very low profile. The manager a wonderful lady named Marissa is very helpful and a wonderful hostess. The lady of the house was also very friendly and warm.

We were a family of 4, husband, wife and two teenage boys. We had the entire top attic floor to ourselves with two spacious double bedrooms each with attached toilets. The beds were comfortable. The daily housekeeping was great. Beds were made, towels changed, toilets cleant and rooms well done. Almost like a hotel. We couldn't have asked for more. Toilets well laid out with adequate toiletries.

The owners have a good set of staff and everything is well organised.

Breakfast was great. We ate around 9am every morning. Great spread. Variety of breads, cheese with Spanish ham. Marissa made us lovely French omelettes, tomatoes, and excellent homemade yoghurt. Coffee for my husband and myself, hot chocolate for the boys. Cake & muffins. The lady who makes breakfast was very cheerful and friendly.

Everyone went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We got help with booking our bus tickets to Valencia, booking a tour of the Alhambra, information on places to visit in Granada and much more.

It was a very warm feeling to come back every evening to a wonderful house with a perfect host and hostess who were there to welcome us back ask about your day, make us some coffee and just chat. It was a very rich and satisfying touch to our holiday.

It was a great three days and on the last day my sons were sad to leave.

We would like to thank the host & hostess and all the staff for a wonderful experience. We recommend Carmen Del Cobertizo to any family or even a couple looking for a warm homely local experience instead of a commercial hotel stay.

Room Tip: The top floor is very private with two rooms attached with a small living space. The is ideal for a...

The best thing that can be said is that it is very quiet. But also dark and rather cramped. It is in someone's house and we felt like intruders. I thought it would be important to be in the Albayzin but there really is no one about, even in the middle of the day, and we were warned not to walk around after dark. Not a good choice.

What a wonderful lodging choice for a visit to Granada - great location, very comfortable accommodations and a wonderful owner & hostess! It is clearly a great place to relax and recharge after a day of sightseeing. The hotel's location is on a pedestrian lane tucked away from any street noise yet within walking distance to restaurants and historical sites.

My wife and I had planned a road trip through southern Spain during the December holiday season and wanted to find a "warm" place to enjoy the Christmas weekend. After reading several reviews, we luckily chose Carmen Del Cobertizo - this boutique hotel clearly exceeded all of our expectations.

Lorena, owner/manager, greeted us on our arrival, showed us around her hotel (home!) and helped us navigate the local streets and our visit to the Alhambra. Lorena is truly a warm and caring person - on Christmas Eve, she invited us to join her family for their holiday meal and celebration. They tolerated our very limited Spanish and kept us engaged in table discussions. Clearly this gathering was a high point of our visit and has created a life long memory!

FYI, the breakfasts were a very good value and served in the casa's dining room. Also, there is free WiFi (free) available.

We will return to Granada in the future and we will return to Carmen Del Cobertizo!!!

Walking through the wooden doors into this home was a wonderful experience. A beautiful house, filled with beautiful objects and set around an internal courtyard covered by a retractable roof. We were made to feel incredibly welcome. The breakfast (additional) was superb, well worth staying in for. Thank you so much again for looking after us.
