We stayed at Casa Federico this time last year and liked it so much that we returned this year.

Casa Federico is a charming small hotel in the heart of the city. It is an old building that has been refurbished to a modern feel with a morrocan look.

It is a perfect place for a weekend stay and an ideal place to rest your head but there is no bar/restaurant so it is really a pleasant B&B.

It is a family run hotel and the staff are helpful and do everything possible to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

I would definately reccomend this hotel for a short city break.

We stayed in this little hotel for only two nights when we visited Granada at the end of October. We stayed in room 15 on the top floor which is the biggest of their rooms. Although still rather small, the room was pleasantly decorated in a moorish theme, in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The bed was a great surprise at two metres in width.

The roof terrace is what really sticks in our minds. It has the most incredible views of the nearby Granada Cathedral and Alhambra. A fantastic place to have a drink in the evening!

The staff were fluent in English and always friendly and willing to offer advice on where to eat, how to get to the Alhambra etc. Overall,
a great small hotel in the heart of Granada, within reasonable walking
distance to all the sites of interest.

Great location right in the heart of Granada just a stone's throw from the cathedral and very close to University area with bars and restaurants. Small but very comfortable room and very nice bathroom. Extremely good value indeed. Definite recommendation.

We loved this hotel - the room was small but decorated nicely and the bath was great - they had a nice selection of toiletries and a hair dryer. The room and hotel was spotless, it was down a little alley but was within great range of everything. There is a rooftop deck which is great - we saw a great view of the Alahambra and a fireworks show

My friend and I stayed here for one night before moving on to an apartment in Granada. The hotel is very central, right near the cathedral, making it ideal for exploring the Alabacin and the Alhambra as well.

I always try to stay in interesting local hotels rather than with the big corporates. While this hotel is beautiful and looks like it has been lovingly restored, the rooms were just a little to small. My friend and I requested a twin room and ended up with room 7. There were two beds in the room each made up seperately, but there was less than an inch seperating the two beds. It was just a little too cosy for two people who wanted a bit of personal space. I think the hotel would be perfect for a short romantic break, but wasn't quite for us depite its rustic charm. We didn't unpack, but there was virtually no space to store luggage and there was a make shift rail over the desk/TV stand which had a few hangers if you want to hang your clothes. There was no wardrobe. I didn't see any of the other rooms, but I think this is one of those places where it is worth paying a bit more for a better room with more space. We paid just over 90 euros for the night and found that this was quite a reasonable rate for Granada. The hotels in granada were a bit dearer than we expected, so in terms of value for money given the location I think this hotel is a winner if you get a decent size room.

The hotel has a terrace that overlooks the cathedral and has stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains. If you ask reception they are happy to bring you a drink and some nuts/olives while you enjoy the view. The staff were very helpful in finding us a restaurant, booking tickets to the Alhambra, and calling taxis.

Overall, I think this is a good boutique hotel, good value for money, but think it is more suited to couples or single travellers. If you want a bit of charm and an excellent location then this is a good choice in Granada...though I would recommend upgrading to a larger room if you can afford it.

The renovations to this building are true to the character of this charming house, and the views from the rooftop are fabulous. You can see the Alhambra, Albaycin, and Sierra Nevada, not to mention the Cathedral. There is a bit of sacrifice of comfort to authenticity, but well worth it if you appreciate the real thing. The central location is also very convenient, although the increasing graffiti of Granada is unfortunately encroaching on this area.

We have returned from a week in Andalucia, visiting Granada and Seville. I booked Casa de Federico based on the strength of reviews on here and their website. Overall, the hotel was well presented, with unique furniture and clean. I was ok with the size of the rooms, although they did seem a bit mean for the price of the room.

We had a huge shock however when we were leaving the hotel. We were presented with a bill that included an extra 60 Euros for breakfast, and three separate bills for each time we took breakfast. We had no idea that breakfast was not included, and we certainly would not have taken it as it apparently cost 10 Euro per person, per day. Absolutely outrageous! I have had many far superior breakfasts at hotels in Europe for free.

The cost of breakfast was not advertised in our room, on our booking forms, in the breakfast room, or when the hotel staff pointed our the breakfast room. We felt really deceived when we received the bill. We certainly would have gone somewhere else for breakfast, at a much fairer cost, for much better food, had we known.

After a reasonable stay at the hotel, this left a bitter taste in our mouth about Casa de Federico. We would not return or recommend.
