We made a last minute booking as we had tickets for the Alhambra and on arrival at the hotel were given a warm and friendly welcome. This is a lovely hotel, tastefully appointed to show case the history of the building; our room was simple and elegant and the location could not be better in beautiful Granada.

Stayed: December 2014, travelled as a couple

Ladron de Agua is a fantastic, romatic getaway in Granada!

The hotel itself is a stone throw from the main plaza, and about 15-20min walk from the entrance of the Alhambra. From the street rooms you have a nice view of the Alhambra. Darro street is very quiet (especially as Spain goes). Of course there will be pedestrians during the night and into the early morning hours, but that's just normal - people like to be out and walk at night! If you don;t like that kind of "noise", don't come to Spain ;-)

Hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel design is nice, rooms are spotless and well equipped. The only thing maybe to change would be to have only fixed beds (not the wheel kind). There is always free mineral water that gets replentished every day. Breakfast is very copious, especially for Spain.

The whole hotel is non-smoking! Excellent!

Get the Generalife Suite if you can - the room, and the views are just fantastic!

Room Tip: Get the Generalife Suite if you can - the room, and the views are just fantastic!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The service was outstanding and the location was great. There was a very nice breakfast and evening sherry and tapas was a nice added touch. Great area for walking around and many good restaurants close by.

Room Tip: While they can be noisy, rooms facing the Alhambra are wonderful

Lovely hotel in very convenient location. Easy walking distance to restaurants. Pleasant staff. Courtyard had modern feel, with interesting artwork. Bedroom more traditional with just a glimpse of the Alhambra. Evening sherry a nice touch.

Loved the area - you could walk to all the sights of Granada from here. Very handy for cafes and bars etc. Hotel was really beautifullly restored. Communal area was beautiful - imagine would be great when very hot. Free sherry and snacks was a pleasant bonus. Room was well fitted out but very small and dark. There was an enormous tree outside that blocked nearly all natural light. Worth paying for this hotel.

Room Tip: Would go for a room higher up the hotel.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. The large three outside your window, which arguably blocks some of the daylight, is protected and one of the few trees along the lower river bed. As this is a historic area and and our building is typical of 17th century local architecture, we must strive to balance old world with modern comforts. We appreciate your feedback and welcome back!
