We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this small hotel located in a restored 16th century house.

Our one and only snag: don't pass the parking garage! The hotel is located on a tiny one-way street, and you'll pass the garage before the hotel. Leave your car in the driveway of the garage while you run into the hotel to check-in. Learn from our experience. After a long driving adventure through the neighborhood (our GPS was a rock star), we arrived at the hotel only to prolong the adventure by navigating our way back to the parking garage not 200m behind us. Thanks to calm-under-pressure driving and the crude sign language of a Spanish handyman, we made it to our parking spot (and didn't move the car again until we were ready to depart).

But really, this is a lovely hotel in the heart of the Albayzin. Rooms are simple and surprisingly spacious. Individually controlled A/C was a definite plus (it's hot in Granada!). Our breakfast was leisurely, and the other hotel guests were friendly. The staff is excellent. We were able to book day-of dinner and hammam reservations with no problems, and we were provided with excellent maps and advice (e.g., the minibus route to the Alhambra...the only place we did not walk to).

Loved this hotel- attentive but not 'in your face'- responded to absilutely every query and email prior to our trip, gave excellent directions etc. lovely location in old town, graet local restaurants etc- we'd two downstairs interconnecting rooms which looked into the courtyard- slept like tops. Great breakfast in cute dining room- we wer leaving early the next morning for a flight and as we crept out the guy handed us sandwiched, fruit and drinks for a car picnic breakfast.
all the reviews are right- cant fault this cute wee place!

We stayed this hotel for two nights and did not feel any dangers in neighborhood as someone suspects. Staff members are very kind for sightseeing guidance and transportaion arrangements.
Breakfast was fixed earlier on the departing morning as we are taking early flight. It is a nice downhill walk to the downtown area where you can find many restaurants and shops.
Suggest to stay.

I can understand why this little hotel is No 1 in Granada. There must be no better place to stay. In the Albaicin barrio with its maze of one-way cobble-stoned streets, it is newly restored and tastefully decorated. The staff were extremely helpful. We had views across to the Alhambra. What more could we ask? Included breakfasts, free wifi, effective air conditioning. We loved the little No 31 bus that stops outside the front door and takes you down Plaza Nueva. Hope one day to return!

Lovely hotel in ideal location. The team at Hotel Isabel are so friendly, courteous & the hotel is a welcome cool oasis. It's also quite a quirky location! Wouldn't recommend driving in Granada anyway, but although parking is available through the hotel it is a really difficult area to drive in so wouldn't recommend it! My only criticism is that the rooms lack natural light unless you have the internal windows open. Other than that it's good.

Location is excellent, if you want to be in the Albaicin, the old neighborhood with narrow, cobblestone streets. The hotel is small and charming, comfortable rooms and beds, excellent breakfast (best selection that we had in Spain), and helpful staff. A short walk from hotel is Mirador San Nicolas from where you have excellent views of the Alhambra. Like other reviewers have noted, one can walk down the stairs to town in a few minutes, or take the bus. No complaints here.

Located in the old city on a narrow alley, you wonder what could be inside this wall. What a treasure. This lovely B and B has charming rooms, a scrumptous breakfast and the most helpful staff you could imagine. One of party was ill while we were staying there and the staff went out of their way to be of help. It is just a gem of a B and B. Nicely decorated, such a lovely feel.

Not at the hotel, but walkable are the Hamman Arabic baths. You will need a reservation, but this is a fun experience!

Room Tip: We had the main floor rooms, considered the most modest, but they were very nice.
