“Great Little Place”

We arrived in Granada at 8:00 A.M. after an all-night sleeper train ride from Barcelona. After a taxi ride to the hotel, to our surprise, we were offered breakfast, even though our check in time wasn't until 2:00 in the afternoon. After we ate, a staff member made sure that we got on the right mini-bus to the Alhambra (bus stop almost right outside the front door) and stowed our luggage until we got back. It was 100 degrees outside, but the AC worked just fine, and we were very comfortable at night (If you're going to southern/central Spain in the summer, make sure that your hotels have very good ACs!!)

The Moorish neighborhood was really nice. The Albayzyn is realy quaint, compared to downtown by the cathedral and train station -- and the minibus goes right by the Cathedral anyway. From the hotel, it's only about a five minute walk to the perfect lookout to see the Alhambra, esp. at night -- St. Nick's Plaza. Near that was a really nice treed plaza filled with tables and surrounded by several restaurants -- all reasonably priced and filled with locals -- Typical Spanish scene: 11:00 PM and whole families eating dinner with the kids running around.

The small, quaint hotel, the Moorish neighborhood, and the Alhambra -- that's why you go to Granada!

We stayed in this hotel back in May. We stayed here with our two year old daughter who is very loud and hyperactive. We were never made to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome which is really appreciated. The staff were also very friendly, always smiling and helpful when we asked for directions. We wanted to change 500Euro because non of the shops in Granada accepted large notes of money because of risk of fraud and it was late and we did not have access to a bank or an exchange office and they kindly changed it to us although they did not have to take the risk. And of course, there is the ambience and the beautiful rooms, the nice sitting room and the fresh lemon juice every morning at breakfast. This is defineitly the best hotel we stayed in in Spain. We loved it.

Great hotel very nicely decorated in medieval style. Very kind staff and buffet was also nice for breakfast. its Best if you are not traveling by car because the car route is extremely rough, requiring special registration of your car to prevent a ticket. The hotel goes out of their way to make sure you're prepared and know exactly what you need to do (god will lead you the wrong way). Only suggestion is that their internet is really spoty. Even when standing still the single goes in and out on multiple of our devices at all points in the hotel. Great food nearby and the area around the hotel is very well lit.

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights recently. The main purpose of our trip was to visit the Alhambra, but we were also interested to see Granada.

In typical Islamic style, the outside of the hotel is very unassuming, but when you go through the door you enter a beautiful patio, with a small fountain in the centre.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom and air-conditioning. The staff are very friendly and helpful and gave us some good restaurant recommendations. The hotel has a small drinks/snacks menu from which I can definitely recommend the homemade lemonade.

On checking out there was a problem with the credit card charge machine and it seemed that the only worry that Elena had was whether we got charged twice, no worrying about if they would get paid, which was nice.

We stayed for two nights. This family owned and operated hotel is simply amazing. Its location in Albayin is perfect. Its seconds from the tourist bus route. It is also seconds from the best day or night viewpoint of the Alhambra.
The rooms are well equpped and large. The continental breakfast was ample and fresh.
Even though it is only 11 rooms, it was manned 24 hours. Both Rapheal and his sister Lola were incredibly well organised to guide their guests to get the best experience from the visit to the Alhambra
(we had forgotten our Alhambra voucher and Rapheal managed to call the company and found the exact site from where he was able to print the document using our credit card number, amazing! (since the Alhambra was booked solid for 2 weeks otherwise)
The hotel rate was very competitive and we found free street parking right in front of the hotel. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

ps: if you drive, you must/must get gps in Spain.

We stayed here for 1 night for our wedding anniversary. We had visited the Alhambra all day and then attempted to get to the hotel. It took us 2 hours! The roads in Granada city centre are a nightmare! When we did find the hotel we forgot all about our stress of driving around! The hotel was fantastic - location, charm, you name it, it had it. We had room 10 at the top of the hotel with a view over Granada and the mountains. It was breathtaking! We could also see the Alhambra out of the other window. The room was huge and the bathroom was one of the largest I have ever seen in a hotel. Plenty of soft towels and toiletries. We walked down to the little square nearby and had an OK meal. The highlight was the waitress, Maria, she was hilarious! She arranged a paella for my husband even though it was not on the menu and I had a local chicken dish that was lovely. We also had 3 carafes of wine and the bill came to 40 euros. The location and the atmosphere was perfect for our wedding anniversary celebrations. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Granada. The main centre can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes, downhill though! All in all a wondeful experience and our only regret would be that we couldn't have spent another night there!

My wife and I spent two nights at the Santa Isabel in late August, and both agreed it was the best hotel of our two-week trip to Spain. The facilities are clean, modern, and comfortable; the location --in the heart of the historic Albaicín-- is ideal; the breakfast is fresh, ample, and and tasty; and the staff are without exception courteous and helpful. Better yet, the price is absolutely unbeatable. We would recommend the Santa Isabel to anyone traveling to Granada!

* Don't miss the "mirador de San Nicolás" (park overlooking the Alhambra) just a block from the hotel. The view at night is amazing!
