“Good location - but left us a little dissapointed”
Reviewed 26 January 2014

We chose this hotel as we had just one night in Granada and knew we would be arriving a little too late to look around the city.
The hotel is located in a residential street surrounded by houses. The street is very narrow and parking and turning the car is very tight.
We were very disappointed that the restaurant was unable to accommodate us for dinner without a prior reservation. The person behind the front desk was not particularly helpful nor welcoming. No help with bags, no advice for parking etc. But they did give us a good recommendation for a restaurant in the main street of this small town.
The rooms were very basic. It was not quite the little gem of a hotel we had hoped for.
We would like to have tried the restaurant. The pool looked very nice, but we had no time to use it.

Room Tip: OK for a quick overnight stop, but book a table for dinner in advance. A room overlooking the valley...

Most remembered organized and disciplined friendly staff and luxurious interior. My stay was very comfortable. At my requests, I received a response immediately. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Most of all I liked the ratio of staff to guests. The staff was very courteous and kind. Even small misunderstandings and incidents we solved with a smile. I always recommend it to friends and colleagues.

Friendly staff and great customer service. Beautiful views, free parking, free breakfast and we had a great dinner. 15 minute drive to the very popular Sierra Nevada mountains. Overall this was a great hotel, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We chose this hotel based on the ratings here and the fact it had free parking. Also the breakfast was included which was an added bonus. We were able to take the bus to Granada city centre. Bus number 33 at a cost of 1.20 Euro which you pay the driver directly (20 minutes). We also took the bus back and walked up the hill which was ok.

The downside of this hotel is that it can be a bit noisy. You can hear doors being shut or staff talking downstairs in reception (from the room we were in).

We visited in Winter. There was a heater (a combined aircon/heater) though which really did heat up the room adequately. Despite of the apparent unfortunate acoustics at times, it is still good value for money. Especially because of the breakfast and free parking. The breakfast was not just your run of the mill. There was plenty of choice and the breakfast room was very appealing. I imagine the hotel must be quite good in summer, keeping the heat out and then the lovely terrace during breakfast. The views must also be stunning in summer.

Had a lovely stay here Oct 28-30 2013, we had been warned not to think of taking a car into Granada so a hotel with parking was needed. I took the warning of the steep hill into consideration but decided to risk the climb anyway. yes it is steep but being reasonably fit we were able for the ascent. Remember you'll probably only have to do this once a day.
The room was spotless, with a lovely view over the Sierra Nevada. Very powerful shower and towels changed every day. The bus at the bottom of the hill comes every 10-15 mins and only cost €1.20.You can buy a card and get 10 trips cheaper but we didn't bother, not knowing if we would use it that often, but in hindsight the trip up and down to the Alhambra would have counted too so if you have a family you might want to take this option. I definitely stay here the next time I go to Granada

Room Tip: Ask for a room over looking the mountains/pool

Grenada is a lovely town and the hotel Cerro del Sol was also a lovely find. Nicely decorated bedrooms, quite unique. Location was not an issue, as we had transportation (car) through local friends which was convenient. Having breakfast buffet available on site worked out perfectly as it allowed for a more relaxed morning and made it easier, as we did not have to rush out looking for suitable food options in town (travelling with a diabetic).

We stayed for 3 nights here and had a lovely time. The hotel is small but has everything you need. Rooms are decorated beautifully with a real Andalucian feel to them. Ask for a room overlooking the pool and on the first floor as you will have a little balcony and the view of the Sierra Nevada mountains is breathtaking. The pool is small and unfortunately closes 30 Sept which was a pity as it was hot while we were there but Oct is the beginning of their low season. Breakfast was lovely. Beautiful fresh juice, rolls, meat, cheese etc. more than enough and typical Spanish .staff were so helpful. Always friendly. After we had been out for the evening we could sit on the terrace and they would bring out our drinks to us. The hill to the hotel is very steep and to be honest it would be a bit of a pain walking up it if you did nt have a car. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill though we never used it. It's only about 5 mins drive to the Alhambra and the city centre . Even though it's not right in the city it's in a great location because of the views.
