“Great Value Hotel”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

We arrived early so we could go sight seeing. The man on reception was great although subject to high demand he dealt with everyone patiently and politely, switching language to suit. Time and time again he highlighted on the map areas of interest explaining how to get there.
The room was big clean and comfortable, the Air con was appreciated.
It is located on a street which runs parallel to the main road within easy walking distance of the town centre attractions. This is a well appointed hotel at a competitive price. We would gladly stay her again.

For $73 dollars a night, this place is a great deal. A short 25 scenic walk takes you down to the Cathedral, Albayzin, and center of the city. The hotel is located off the main drag, Calle Gran Via de Colon, which was great for catching buses to the train station or bus station or a taxi. Hotel is really easy to find. Don't be scared of the location (graffiti tagging all over the shop doors), we felt very safe and the neighborhood is well lit. Our room was small, no frills, clean and pleasant. The WiFi was good. We had a room on the 2nd floor with a view of the opposing hotel Los Girasoles located in a quiet alley with hardly any street noise noticeable in the room. Standup shower with good water pressure and heated water. Beds were firm, had a small desk and TV with mostly Spanish stations. Large amount of closet space. All in all a good value and location to all of the attractions of the city.

Room Tip: Due to the location, I think all rooms will have about the same view (of other buildings in the neig...

We chose this hotel completely uneducated about Granada. We got a taxi from the bus station although the no 33 bus stop is only 2 mins walk away. The hotel is situated in a small street parallel to the main Colon st. First impressions are not good as this is a very run down little st covered in graffitti. However thr room was spotless and had a little window opening out onto thr back st.Basic ammenities but for 45 euros per night what more do you need.About 15mins walk to the morroccan area and 10 mins to cathedral.Bus stops are plentiful and run to the Alhambra continuously.Would definetely use this hotel again as we fell in love with Granada.

I liked the hotel very much and highly recommend it. It is clean, located in the centre, the staff is very helpful, free wi-fi everywhere, excellent value for money. It is not so hard to find it because there is a sign that can be seen from the main street Gran Via de Colon besides they send you a map when confirm the booking.

Located near centre off of Main Street. Only problem is finding it! Satnav no good unless very up to date. Has been complicated by the local community blocking off the main road (Colon) through Granada for buses and taxis only. Cars have to weave and wind through back streets which is crazy. If you do make the wrong turn hotel will try to avoid you paying the fine. Otherwise very good but leave your car in the hotel car park for 13 euros a day and either walk or use the buses.

Dear Mike

First of all, we want to thank you for your review.
Unfortunately, drive in Granada is crazy, mainly when you go to the city center.
In our web site you can find a map of the city with all explanations to get to the hotel, and we want to notice because of new guests.

Thank you again for taking your time to write a review.
We hope to see you again!

Best regards.

We booked two rooms at this hotel through a third party site. On arrival we were informed that our booking had been cancelled due probably to the third party having gone out of business. The hotel staff were very helpful and we were lucky to obtain a room for the night. After returning home we were able to establish that the firm we booked with (Navelar) had indeed filed for bankruptcy. The hotel staff said this was happening to them more often than not and advised in future that you should contact the hotel direct to confirm your booking was still valid.

I would recommend this hotel it is clean, well situated and the staff are very helpful.

Friends had stayed here before, so 4 us booked again (1st time for us). The hotel is one road back from the busy C Grand Via aka C.Colon, with the steps to access C Colon, just a few yards away. The hotel´s road is a narrow cobbled one way street, (sat nav guided us into it the wrong way, but it wasn´t a busy street so we could easily turn round to face the correct way) The lovely old apartments opposite took all the noise away from our room, so it was quiet at night. There is time limited parking outside the hotel (about40 minutes) which hotel guests use to unload before parking in the private garage (extra cost 13€ a day) Reception area is small, and the staff efficient, friendly, have a wealth of knowledge and speak excellent English if your Spanish isn´t up to much. Check in was straightforward although each person needs to show their passport) we had a twin, non smoking room on the second floor, room 206.we used the lift to get to our room. Although smallish the room was clean, had a wardrobe, extra pillows, quilt, sufficient hangers, lighting, telephone & TV (remote given out by reception, Spanish tv and radio only), pristine bed linen. The room had 2 sets of lovely floor to ceiling french doors leading to a small Juliet balcony overlooking the street. The bathroom was functional, with a half bath with a powerful overhead shower, but tricky if you´re short like I am,glass shower screen. Shampoo, soap and a comb are supplied. There is Free wi-fi available in the rooms, while on the ground floor there is a lounge with a computer for guests to use. Printing is available if you ask at reception for tickets, boarding cards etc Password for wi-fi is given when you check in. Also down stairs is another lounge with a small microwave oven. There is a vending machine in reception for tea, coffee, snacks etc. Maps of Granada are also available at reception. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but there are ample power sockets if you have a kettle. It is a good base for exploring the city. . No breakfast is supplied , but you can get a voucher for a discount in a local restaurant, where the egg and bacon were good. The area is full of graffitti, but don´t let that put you off, it´s all over the city. We loved it and will visit this hotel again
