“Looks nice but not recommended for food.”
Reviewed 10 February 2013

Appearances can be deceptive. Great place in a central location and the interior looks nice. Good for a drink. But the food was awful. Unusually (in Granada) we were charged for bread but the food was bland and tasteless. Sopa de Cebolla lacked seasoning and the cheese toasts were greasy and bland. The soup lacked flavour. But the most truly awful were the Pimientos Picadillos - stuffed peppers. For 11 euros it was a mean portion of three small peppers filled with a glutinous, brown, cheese sauce again devoid of flavour. It was thickened with flour and the whole thing overcooked to the point where the flour had solidified around the edge of the dish. Olives served were the type with added monosodium glutamate. Tables were dirty, staff largely disinterested. It may be ok for breakfast but I would be very wary of having more than a coffee and napolitana and when I am next in Granada will avoid this place.

“Good spot for a quick breakfast”
Reviewed 12 January 2013 via mobile

Located on the main street and not far from our hotel we decided to try the advertised hot breakfast offer. It was a generous serving and just what was needed ahead of a busy day of sightseeing. Service was prompt and a little abrupt but still okay.

“A simple place, but very nice old cafeteria”
Reviewed 6 January 2013

Go there for a simple breakfast; have a cup of coffee and toast, and admire a very old cofee shop. Take a while, read the morning paper, and enjoy the ambience. That's all, no big deal. but a nice place.

“Too pricy”
Reviewed 11 October 2012

Situated next to the cathedral, I get that they can charge comparatively high prices. Tourist (like us) come out of the cathedral, they're thirsty, sit down at the first table they see and don't care what it costs.

However: the tables outside are next to a street curve that apparently provokes every car to squeak loudly and the sound is really disturbing.

Also, I had a piece of blackberry cheese cake that was average at best. First of all, I'd expect a blackberry cake to contain actual blackberries and not just jelly. Secondly, it was luke warm and it would only have tasted good cold. Thirdly, given points 1 and 2, almost 4 € is not acceptable.

The service was ok.

“LuNCH at Via Colon”
Reviewed 14 September 2012

If they spent as much on the food and service as they do in the people advertising the restaurant, there might be some improvement. Absolutely terrible place to dine. Not even for Chihuahuas!
