On a little side street in Santa Cruz barrio near lots of other restaurants. Sit outside, drink cerveza, eat the paella de marisco (delicious) and watch all the other tourists doing their tourist thing. Friendly service, generous servings (enough to split).

Sunday lunch here and the best tapas we found in Sevilla. Four of us shared 2 of the 5 tapas for 9.90 euro offer, each tapas was different and every single one was delicious. From the oxtail to the fried fish via a mini paella, this perfect tavern couldn't be faulted. One of the tapas was even a pudding. What a great idea! The young waitress was friendly and helpful and even seemed entertained by our pathetic efforts at Spanish. It's set in a great location just off the cathedral up a pretty street. Sitting outside in the sun, in November, good tapas, friends and a generous glass of vino. What could be better?

Staying at the Hotel Casa 1800 "put us" right in the middle of a great "old city" area, with a myriad of restaurants, shops, tapas bars, stores, and historic sites . After touring the Alcazar Real and the Plaza de Espana by foot , we returned to our hotel to check out and head for next destination- Cordoba.

We decided to eat lunch first, and chose the Las Escobas, because of it's close proximity to our hotel. We stepped down into a very small, noisy dining area, full of locals and tourists alike. They had a great "fixed price" lunch special, and we all enjoyed our food and the authentic atmosphere. There were pretty chandaliers on the ceiling, and huge wooden shelves on the walls filled with wine bottles. The floor was tiled, and pretty painted tiles went half-way up the walls. There was an old copper/brass looking cash register behind the bar.The tables were close together, and the waiters seemed overwhelmed, but the food was good and we enjoyed "people watching".

It was a stunningly gorgeous day, cool and sunny. They did not have an air conditioner, but we were very comfortable because of the pleasant temperature. I probably wouldn't eat here in the summer months, when it is so hot, unless they have AC, which we did not see vents for. They have outside tables also.

We visited Seville on probably the hottest day in May when temperature peaked at 40C. We saw the old fashioned facade and decided to sit in the shade. We made the mistake of ordering the 9.90 tapas plate as we were too hot and tired to be bothered trawling through the menu. It was a mistake as the dishes were rather boring. We saw far more interesting dishes coming from the kitchen and so regretted our laziness. That said, such special plate offers should try to reflect the restaurant's credentials more, as if the taster plate is good, people will be tempted to go back.
