“Good basic tapas, close to the cathedral”

Croquetas and squid are very good. Tortilletas de cameron a bit dry
Meat skewers good value for money
Not amazing food but decent quality given it could be an absolute tourist trap, and ends up not being one in my opinion

“Good but not very good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2013

Like others, we were a little wary of eating here as it was so close to the cathedral. (Memories of similar places on Rome come to mind!!) However, it was very reasonably priced (drinks E2, tapas around the E3 mark) and the food was well cooked and interesting.
Needless to say, being where it is, with all the hustle and bustle, and other similar places nearby it wasn't a place to linger.

“What a Shame!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2013

this was our 2nd Visit back to Las Escobas, I visited with my girfriend back in July and we had a fantastic meal and atmosphere. We came back to seville for the april Festival with friends and decided the take them back there for an evening meal- the restuartant was busy at 8pm and we managed to get a table for 4. right from the off things didnt start well- the waiter was very rushed and was in hurry to take orders and drinks, my partners wine hadnt been served after 10mins! so we waited and waited!. we all ordered starters included (croquettes and Fish Tapas) which were very nice. Main course was VERY poor in fact so poor we couldnt eat it. my friend had ordered the special tuesday Dish of the day (Squid with Beans) Guess what they served?? PORK and beans! we questioned very quickly and the plate was snatched back from the table with no comment and then 5mins later was told they didnt have squid! thats why they served pork!!!!!!!!. so he re-ordered the prawns in sauce and rice and we all waited until the mistake was sorted...10mins later a plate of uncle beans microwave rice landed with the blandest prawns we have ever tasted. My partners Tender pork was fatty and hard crunchy potatoes! so we called over a waitress and asked for the Wine and said the dishes were not very good at this point the reply was the WORST we have every experienced in a customer/restaurant she snapped at us and had a real attitude about here (not the first comment i see on here) that just about did it for us. shame as we returned and it ruined our night. if you want a decent meal in seville follow the locals and head out the main sq. we always head for El Rinconcillo Tapas bar and head down the street on a sherry tour!! cheap and the best option to taste a bit of everything. best to stay away from Las Escobas and the waitress needs to be shown some basic manners!

“worst experience in sevilla !!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2013

Just to explain, we took the menu. The salad was very basic, and the service quite bad with an unfriendly attitude from the waitress. The worst came with the dessert, we ask for the different options and she told us a fruit (an apple, a banana or an orange... just like that) or an icecream... We ask for the different flavours and she told us it's just vanillia and chocolate. We go a plastic cup with a industrial icecream, like the one you get when you are a kid and that you don't like !!

Don't go there, it's a waste of your money !!
