Description: Al Medina Restaurant, Morocco in the center of Seville.. Nothing would be more important to us that every customer would feel part of this culture through Al-Medina and its gastronomy. So we hope that curiosity is the prelude to the knowledge of gastronomy, Arabic, it has a lot to offer and teach those who know that eating is more than just satisfy hunger.

“Great restaurant; delicious food and lovely ambience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

After a lot of tapas, we wanted Moorish food and this turned out to be our best meal in Seville. Very authentic and excellent food, friendly and efficient service, beautiful decor. We had the berber salad, vegetable couscous and the lamb & eggplant tagine - all delicious, but especially the lamb & eggplant! We wanted the pastela too, but was (correctly) advised that it would be too much. Managed to make room for pastries and mint tea - well worth it.

The restaurant is on a quiet road, so unless you're looking for it, you won't just come across it. We went to look for it on a Monday and they were closed, so decided to call and return on Tuesday - we are so glad we did! It was our last evening in Seville and we are so happy to have spent it at Al-Medina.

“A hidden gem, excellent food, gorgeous interior”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

Cannot recommend enough however do note that the food is expensive but very very worth it. Walking in we were blown away by the level of authentic Moroccan decoration right down to the plates they served the food on - the paintings and lampshades were beautiful. Ordered the berber vegetable salad which is one of the nicest things I've tasted, ever! Homemade houmous was whipped and light as air, again very very nice. The vegetable couscous was gorgeous - fluffy couscous, steamed vegetables and caramelized onions were a wonderful addition, unusual but lovely. The couscous dressing was very fragrant and lovely. Finished off with mint tea, served in cute little cups. Note that it is already sweetened when served.

“Wonderful food, service, enternainment and atmosphere!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

Had dinner at Al-Medina with the extended family on Friday night and had such a wonderful experience my wife, 2 college age daughters and I returned on Saturday night! The first thing you will notice is the colorful décor and very friendly greeting. The menu is full of interesting selections and very well organized. We were visiting from the US so the English menus were appreciated. Every dish was well prepared, full of interesting and distinct flavors. On Friday night we ordered a bottle of their dry sherry which was excellent and complemented the food very well. The entertainment on Friday night was a lot of fun and a nice way to end the evening for our group. If you are in Seville you should definitely give this place a try!

“Not fair”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

Me and my wife choose two degustaciones menù. In this menù there should be 5 different dishes, but only 3 arrived. The waitress/owner justified that 5 dishes were only if the menu was for 3 persons, but these weren't written anywhere. I also asked some food for children without spices and he suggested me one dish and he assured me there were no spice, but at end he brought me some meat with spices. Obviously my children disliked it.
The food was not bad, even if too much sweet.

Dear customer, we thank you for sharing your opinion, but, i think there is a misunderstanding, we have clearly explained you that the 5 course menu is for 3 adult guests, and you choosed the menu for 2 person ( 3 course menu: Chicken Pastela, lamb tagine & Couscous). You told us that your child does not eat tajine or couscous, so we suggest you chicken skewers, because according to our experience, is children´s favorite dish. Our duty is to advise, suggest and explain but the final decision is up to the customer.

Best regards
