“Great Choice”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

I stayed here recently with my colleagues during a business trip. We had no idea of this place and it was our first visit in this city. All the bookings were made by our client and I was totally surprised with their choice. I mean it was more than a perfect accommodation. Very pretty building, lovely rooms, friendly staff, yummy food, great washroom!!! Just loved the place and would highly recommend it to my other friends.

We stayed for three nights in Hotel Venecia in March 2013 and were quite happy with the experience. It is not in the old neighborhood of Bario Santa Cruz, where all the small hotels and pensions are but it is still well located, specially if you have a car as the hotel has an underground parking for 5 cars.
It is near Almaeda Hercules, a lively stretch of bars and street performers. It is not too far from the Cathedral and the Alcazar but Placa Espana is quite a walk. The hotel is pretty quiet, the rooms are not too big and neither is the bed but it is quite comfortable nevertheless. The receptionist is very helpful and overall we had a great time!!
The only drawback is that the hotel doesnt have a restaurant! But there are plenty of options available. Also, go to Barajas 20 Tapas restaurant if you stay here, its very close by and the food is amazing!

Travelled with 3 others. Hotel was central to everything. Walking distance to restarants and the hop on hop off bus. Would recommend this hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpfull. We shared a 2 bedroom room which was spacious. Wi fi was available in the lobby.

We needed a double room in Sevilla and the first day we needed was the last day of Spring festival. It was difficult to find a vacancy then, I wrote to one hotel (don't remember the name anymore) to reserve a room, the reply was that they were full but they gave me the name of this hotel, said this is their sister hotel. This is very pretty boutique hotel. We paied 207 euros for 2 nights. I should say ok price for nice and comfortable hotel at the time of spring festival. They accept credit card. The room is simple with nice decoration. Everything is clean. For amenities, you can find shampoos in the bathroom. ( Only shampoo. no conditioner) It is located in the central area of Sevilla. Catheral is 1-15 min walk. You reach El Colte Ingles in 2 mins. You find some bars and tavernas near around so even the hotel doesn't have restaurant, you'll never be in trouble. There's free Wifi connection. The ladies at the front desk were helpful. You take #32 but from Santa Justa station and get off at Plaza de Du que and only 2 mins walk.

Moved here for 2 nights over Holy week after mistakenly booking a hotel in East Seville via Hotwire (see other reviews for that rant, sorry guys!).
Ended up on a procession route for the holy week parades and watched what must have been 5000+ people in costume, brass bands and the most magnificant floats walk past our window. This was amazing and very useful as there were heavy showers and cools winds outside and we could soak up the atmosphere from the comfort and warmth of out room.
So it must have been noisy, you would say. Well the double and secondary glazing plus a shutter kept most of the street noise at bay (I slept through a brass band walking past at 5am I'm told). The only downside is that the marble tile floors mean that noise inside the hotel like stilettos and cases travels.
The decor and finish to the hotel rooms is very good. Was nice to have a proper double bed rather than 2 singles squashed together, but it was only a queen-size UK-double not the king/super king that 2 singles would have created. Perfectly adequate and comfy though.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Facilities-wise we didn't find any bar/food/wifi facilities, but to be honest it's location was so good that finding good meals and free wifi is a couple of steps away.
Would defintely return and for location and comfort thought we got good value for money.

Hotel Vencia is a recently renovated hotel nestled snuggly next to an old Cathedral in the heart of the old Seville. That isn't so exceptional once one realizes this area is littered in small old cathedrals. Location of the hotel is in my opinion terrific. We were located outside the heart of the touristic area, but well within the distance of a short walk. The Real Alcazar and Cathedral were within 10-15 minutes walk, the University/old Tobacco factory another 5 and shopping and restaurants all within 5 minutes of the hotel. Three restaurants recommended in Wikitravel at the time were within 5 minutes on foot. Barajas 20 Tapas, a tapas bar at #20 Barajas that was rated very highly on TripAdvisors, and that served us the best meal we had in Seville at a very reasonable price is two blocks away. Two blocks further is La Eslava, at #5 calle Eslava recommended fro lunch but not tried. Five minutes the other way is Bar Ambigu, which also came recommended for lunch but served up excellent supper food in very simple surroundings at a great price. We felt very safe in this part of Seville. It is eminently walkable in spite of, or perhaps in part because of, the narrow cobblestone streets. Of course, I don't wear high heels. Sidewalks are tiny, often only one person wide but pedestrians generally have plenty of time to saunter over to the sidewalks when cars approach, as the thunder of the tires drumming against the cobblestones like a military drill on dead drums gives them ample warning that someone is coming. The narrow, winding and bumpy streets seem to discourage most automobile traffic helping to make the area very pedestrian friendly, and the locals take full advantage. The neighbourhood abounds with small cafes and restaurants filled to brimming on late and pleasant evenings as the locals, young and old, and yuppy families head on foot to the local establishment to drink, eat and socialize. The neighbourhood has seen better days, and some of the buildings have tired "For rent" signs, while others are boarded up or covered in posters and graffiti. The hotel itself is pleasant, clean and bright - and small. We were on the 1st floor (in Europe the ground floor is the number 0. Parking is -1, -2 etc), and I don't recall how many floors there are, but our floor only had space for 7 rooms. The rooms are adequate with comfortable twin beds, oddly made up as two single beds, as opposed to one double bed, as was the case in our Barcelona B&B. The bathroom would be sufficiently spacious if they hadn't insisted on squeezing in a bidet as well as the standard toilet, sink and shower. As it designed, long legs will make the throne uncomfortably tight in the knees but loose around the neck as the seat is a size 14, or XXL. That said, the bidet turned out to be a fun discovery for the wife. Heating and hot water are ample. While recently renovated when we visited in November 2011, the quality of the fixtures makes me despair for the upkeep. In a couple of years it may need another series of repairs. The holder for the handheld shower head had already come loose, and the pipes to the faucets were overly long and already sloppy. The personnel were very kind and accommodating, and, except for the night man, spoke adequate english, some better than others, but no french that I could tell. It struck me as odd that more Spaniards in Seville spoke English than French whereas I find the French and the Spanish more similar due to their common latin roots. This is especially evident in written forms, like menus, and marketing materials. In-room availability of the wifi is dependent on the room's distance from the front desk where the router is located. In our bedroom you could get signal from one bed, but not the other. It is free and otherwise available in the lobby.

Room Tip: The lower the number, but the better the in-room wifi. Don't expect it in rooms over 105.

I went to Seville for a few days with a friend of mine and we had such a great time staying there! The location is great and so practical... you are a few minutes walks from the cathedral and really close to the shopping area! As well, there are lots of bars and restaurant around for a great evening out!
The staff was very friendly and spoke english which made things very easy for us. The hotel has a parking which is very very helpful in a city like Seville... we did not have to drive anywhere... also the hotel is clean, with air com and all rooms have been well decorated. Great modern bathroom too!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, value for money is excellent!
