Located in the Gran Melia Colon in Sevilla, Spain, this hotel restaurant is a delight. I don’t usually eat at hotel restaurants when I travel, preferring to enjoy where the locals eat. I was surprised to learn that El Burladero is a favorite of the locals in Seville.
We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and were expertly taken care of by Juan Jose. He explained the menu items to us and was so sweet and kind to us.
I started my meal with the local version of Gazpacho, a variation of the Spanish classic that is thickened with bread. It was so good!! Followed by pork cheeks with creamed potato, mushrooms with 68 degree egg cream sauce with drops of basil and sweet bell pepper sauce and baby Lamb chops. All of it was so delicious. But the best part of our visit was the incredible service provided by Juan Jose. My mother was dining with us and is lactose intolerant. Juan Jose made sure she was well looked after and even remembered her and her food allergy next time she dined there.
Do visit this wonderful place and enjoy some tapas and a tinto de verano, outside on the sidewalk. You will love it!
