Pleasantly suprised that this 2 star is clean, bright and charming with helpful and friendly staff. We generally stayed in 3 star hotels but Seville is more expensive! POSITIVES: Bathroom super clean. Extra blankets extra pillow in closet, good pillows and decent firm mattress. First floor (up one floor from reception) has a nice sitting area with two couches and magazines. Small plaza in front of hotel is pedestrian area with cafe and outdoor tables full of locals. Also a laundry opposite hotel.Good location in old part of town, 5 to 10 min (depending on our energy level) walk to cathedral and palace. Continental breakfast in the basement level (a little odd, but they have put in lighting and decoration) was good for 5 euros (kids same price), in addition to the usual there was tortilla de papas (potato and egg spanish omlette). Also a sitting area with lots of guidebooks and novels (but open only during breakfast hours). Another plus was they are happy for you to leave luggage after the noon checkout, and also for you to hang out in the lower level which has a lovely little courtyard garden, comfortable sofa and chairs, toilets, wifi and a laptop you can use (for a charge). NEGATIVES: room we had (224) with matrimonial (double) bed was very small (maybe 3 m x 4 m?) so although it was nicely decorated, we did not find it pleasant to stay there except to sleep. Child under 10 stays free on existing bedding. Room had a window that opens to an internal sort of chute that has a glass ceiling so no airflow (or view). Wifi worked fine in our room but I heard a guest on the the 4th floor could not get a signal and the reception said they are working on extending it. Also there is central AC for each floor, and it is not on all the time. During day it was 42 degrees C during day and we came back to rest and AC was off. No fan!! Also each night AC was turned off at some point and we would wake up around 4 am from the heat. It would go back on later during the night. Also this is a totally non smoking hotel but someone smoked late in the day, and again the next morning, and it carried (faintly) through the AC. The staff were very receptive to our complaint about the smoke, and knocked on all doors to try to find the person!
