“Best Tapas in Sevilla”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Run...don't walk to LaAzotea. Modern twist on trad, tapas, served with grace and humility. The shrimp pouches (pasty and goat cheese) and off the hook, the salads are crisp fresh and packed with flavor...and the pig'cheek' is awesome when paired with the Tamaral (Rioja),

“Excellent friendly service with food to match”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We travel to Seville every now and again for a weekend break and really look forward to ut time away. We spend quite a while on TA working out where we want to stay and also whee we want to eat.
We chose a former number 1 restaurant in Seville to dine at last night and it was not very good at all. This morning we stumbled across La Azotea which was ironically about 50 paces form our hotel.
Elena the waitress was very pleasant and efficient and spoke better English than we do Spanish.
Having had a poor experience last night we really needed a good breakfast and we certainly got it, the food was delicious and fresh. We chatted to Elena about the previous night and out of curiosity looked at the men for the evening - what we could have had if we had gone to La Azotea for dinner instead! As vegetarians we could have eaten a significant majority of the dishes on offer rather than 3 o 4 last night! We will be back to Seville later in the year probably and this restaurant is top of our list next time. Thanks Elena

“WOW, WOW, WOW!! This place is INCREDIBLE”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Without a close second, the best food I've ever had in Spain! This place is a must visit in Sevilla. There's not a thing on the menu I wouldn't have tried. The owners Spanish and Californian, so you get a bit of American flair in the flavors, service, and presentation - which makes it top class. Every dish comes in 3 sizes (tapa, half, or full) which is really great because it allows you try a lot of different things on the menu, and order larger portions of the things you really like! The sangria is excellent, full of mangos and strawberries! Each dish of food was inventive, fresh, and expertly cooked! The flavors and textures are truly a party in your mouth. We kept eating way past full, and went back the next day because it was so good! DEFINITELY go!

“Best restaurant in Spain”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

The fact that Azotea is not listed as the best restaurant in Seville shows that you sometimes cannot trust the internet as far as you can throw it. My girlfriend and i have been there every year for 4 years running and it is always the culinary highlight of our year (we usual time it for our anniversary). This year i can compare it to amongst others, visits to the Fat Duck, Dabbous and Andina, all good restaurants but i'd trade a visit to all three to one evening at the bar in Azotea. The commitment to ingredient and to cooking and preperation not to mention the best service i have encountered in Spain (not a high bar to better in fairness) is astounding. I have stuffed and drunk myself silly at the bar to the tune of 50 euros a head and usually have to be rolled in to a taxi and carried to my hotel room groaning. Sometimes i have dreamt about the pig cheek, razor clams, seared tuna. my mouth is watering as i type.

Eslava gives them a run for their money but only they are anywhere close to the experience. I have not found their equal in Barcelona or Madrid. Do Not Miss this restaurant if you are Seville. It is just, simply, a no-brainer. Share my love.

“Weekend in Seville”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

We visited La Azotea restaurant on a Saturday night and arrived just as the shutter was opening. Our party consisted of eight people and the waitress asked how many was in our party, which allowed her to arrange our table for the meal. I must say i have never experienced a restaurant to fill up so quickly. The rest of the experience in the restaurant was fantastic. We sampled 7 tapas and we all had a main course and several bottles of wine. Our waiter Daniel was a perfect host and had patients of a saint!! Would we go again? Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Thanks again
