Owner description: Beautiful medieval Islamic palace showcasing a unique fusion of Spanish Christian and Moorish architecture.

Do not be put off by the queues to get into the Alcazar. They disappear quite quickly, and the entrance for pensioners is only Euro 2, so well worth the 20 minute wait.
The Alcazar is Mujadin which is Christian but built in the Moorish style. If you have seen the Alhambra in Grenada, you will feel quite at home here. Although it was crowded there was a peaceful feel about the palace. We spent about two hours wandering through the rooms, but confess we gave the gardens little attention as although they were attractive, it was hot and lunchtime!

Each room at The Alcazar is more beautiful than the last! The gardens are peaceful, relaxing and immaculately groomed. You will even see peacocks wandering around!

We were amazed at the Moorish designs and found the Alcazar Palace fascinating. The gardens are huge and extremely interesting.

The Alcazar opens at 9.30 and arrived around 9:15 (after visiting the cathedral which was open and free in the morning). I was about 3rd in line and had some parts of the palace all to myself before the crowds started arriving. I enjoyed the salons of the Moor Palace over the Gothic Palace, but both are worth visit. The gardens was also nice for a stroll.

The buildings are impressive but arguably not worth queuing for in the blazing sun for. Buy an advance ticket online and jump the queue. The highlight for me was the extensive gardens. Take the time to explore all of them. Very few people seem to venture into the maze like interlinked gardens.
