Great to meander amongst flora and fauna, grabbing a little shade on a quiet seat. Take sunhat suncrem and a bottle of water! Place de Espana magnificent building, often there are flamenco dancers busking in the shade. Grab a well deserved ice cream or Tinto Verano Limon to quench your thirst.

Laid out in the 1920's for the Ibero-American Exhibition, the park is quite extensive with a huge range of exotic plants and trees, together with pavilions dotted about which were designed to hold the exhibitions. Several of these pavilions are now museums (the Archaeological Museum is well worth a visit and opposite is the ethongraphic museum in a stunning pavilion) and there are shaded avenues and walks through the park. The first part contains the Plaza de Espana which is a tourist magnet but once past there, go through the gates, across the turning cicle, and through another set of gates into the second half of the park, it is very much quieter. A short distance from the above two museums is a nice little cafe that has been run (according to the menu) by the same family since the park opened in 1929! By the way, entrance to the above musuems is free for EU citizens!

Parque Maria Luisa is must-visit area in Sevila, Connected to the famous Plaza de Espana (built in 1929) for the world fair, you can get lost in the shady paths. In the grounds of the park, there is an outstanding archaeological museum that is worth a visit.

Like every place in Sevilla, walking in the park can be extremely hot in the summer months!

Nice to walk through on the way to the, Plaza de Espana. Being told about bushes and trees is not that enthralling. Oh, and also being told to watch out for pickpockets, that the police know about.

An absolutely wonderful place to wander around and forget all your stresses. The only noises come from the fountains and birds singing.
We spent time just walking in no particular direction. Stopping off on a bench in the shade of the huge trees.
