“Great selection of Murillo and Zurbarán - also an architectural gem”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Though not an old building by Seville standards, it has lovely cloister gardens and beautiful ceramic tiles and closely respects the history of Andalucia. If religious art puts you off then admittedly the Murillos and Zurbarans may not be for you but it is hard not to be impressed by the craftsmanship and the magnificent surroundings. Absolutely worth a visit even for the courtyards alone and the paintings are masterpieces. Make sure you are an EU citizen as admission is then free. What is there not to like?

“Beautiful building, fine collection of Spanish artists”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Mostly works by Spanish artists, impressive room of Murrillo's
Not the depth & breath of the Prado. Worth a visit after seeing the Cathedral, Alcazar & Plaza Espana.

“Very interesting”

Good overview of Spanish art. Too much religious art for my taste. Centrally located. Easy to find, and open more than other places.

“A Great Museum”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

The Museum of Fine Arts is considered the second best fine arts museum in Spain, after the Prado. There is a very large collection of art here. I especially like the Chapel, where one can see so many of Murillo's large paintings. His Inmaculada is one of his best masterpieces and is hung in Sala V. The other paintings found in the Chapel were also impressive. One is allowed to take photography without flash, so I went through the whole museum and took photos of the art that I liked, taking notes at the same time. The three patios of the museum are also beautiful.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

This museum is supposed to be the third most important museum in Spain, so I had to visit it. I could not believe that the entrance fee was only €1.50 and became even more amazed when I saw the pieces on display. I particularly loved the Murillos. It was also very refreshing to be in a museum that was not overly crowded.
