“Excellent Building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2013

The building of this hotel is perhaps the most spectacular that I have ever stayed or visit. If a person visit the city, even if not staying in this property, is worth to go see as a tourist attraction. Now, the service was not at the same level. The first night we have mosquitos inside the room. After informing the front desk, by the second night the problem was solved. The organization for breakfast was disappointing. They were short staff and if you ask for something additional to the buffet, it took more time than reasonable to have it done. The staff also was not very friendly. Perhaps this last observation is an Spaniard problem. You never see smiles in this country as you see in the States. Having say that, thought not in this hotel, the service at restaurants is much more professional than in USA. In summary, I am very happy to have stayed in this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience was not as great as it could have been.

Booked two night in Hotel Alfonso in Seville and it was Amazing. The building is so elegantly built with all the arches and walls that takes you in a tour through a beautiful time. Staff very professional and helpful. Room 317 was facing the Tobacco factory, very clean , spacious, with a king bed. The breakfast area is that beautiful you just want to spend more time there.
Its in a walking distance from most attraction of Seville.
Amazing experience!

a true gem in the heart of andalucia's most known town, Seville. My wife and I enjoyed very much this palace style hotel that is managed by Starwood. Its service is genuine and reflects all the beauty of the andalusian traditions. Loved visiting around the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz and eating tapas y hidden bars, all highly recommended by hotel's concierge. We only did breakfast at the hotel before speding all our day walking around this beautiful town where flowers hang from every balcony.

If you're looking to treat yourself to one of the best hotel experiences of your life, book a room at this elegant destination. You'll feel like your staying in a palace when you climb the marble stairs. The entire hotel is filled with beautiful tile and period furniture replicas. The courtyard is exquisite.

One note of caution- if you are arriving by car it is very difficult to find the proper entrance as it looks as if you are traveling in an area off limits to vehicular traffic. Look for the taxis lined up, go to the front of the line and turn right into the hotel entrance.

The buiding was a lovely old converted palace. It was a beautiful building in a great location close to the Cathederal and Alcazar.

Postives - great location, lovely building, some of the best beds I have had in a hotel, very clean, good sized rooms, lovely pool area, all areas well maintained,

Not so good - while staff were lovely, not always effecient. They brand themselves as 5 star and charge 5 star prices so would expect slicker service. As an old palace with lots of marble fllor so not the quietest of places in your room. Sound proofing no great and could hear tv's in next door rooms, air con very noisy with the fan on, was needed but couldn't use as kept us awake. The gym was ridiculously small with only 7 or 8 pieces of equipment. Plenty of space so either have a proper one or not at all. A bug bear of mine for all hotels - ditch the musac, it really doesn't add to the ambince.

Overall a really nice hotel.

This must be one of the best hotels we stayed in. Just beautiful.
The hotel itself is a joy to look at. The location is fantastic.. Just steps from the Cathedral and quite neat the AlCazar. The room was amazing and the breakfast was sumptuous. The patio area was very much in the spirit of Andalucian architecture and lovely to pass an afternoon in. Even when it was a little chilly, they has outside heaters to allow you to enjoy a drink outside . Nothing bad at all to say about this hotel. We wished we could have spent more than two days!

We stayed in this stunning Hotel in the heart of Sevilla for 4 nights in October/ November.

Pure luxury throughout.

I am not sure why other TA reviews complained of slow service, it was excellent from the moment we arrived - Porters/ Check-in/ American Bar.

Our Bedroom was beautiful & cleaned twice daily.

Positives -

Friendly/ Professional staff.

Great service levels.

American Bar - 130 Gins to choose from/ Excellent Band on Friday nights/ the toasted almonds!

The Courtyard in the centre of Hotel - great place to relax.

Negatives -

Wi-Fi only available free of charge at Reception area - otherwise you must pay - this is crazy & Hotel Management need to change this immediately, it's the 21st century!

Do ask for an inward facing bedroom - our room (151) was beautiful but it was facing the street so it was noisy at times.

I am an SPG Guest (41919582993) & I was disappointed I had to book Hotel through Booking.com as it was almost €100 cheaper per night than Hotel/ Starwood website.
This is the 1st time this has happened to me with a Starwood Hotel.

When checking out on Saturday 2/11/13, the lady at Reception assured me I would get a full allocation of Starpoints for my stay even though I had booked room through Booking.com.
This did not happen which is disappointing.
I emailed SPG about this & they replied saying Starpoints are only applied when you book through Hotel/ Starwood website.

Overall this is a Beautiful, well run 5* Hotel & if you want luxury when you are visiting Sevilla stay here!
