We stayed here in 2013 and enjoyed it's location and atmosphere. Breakfasts were fabulous, especially the Seville Oranges... If you ask the front desk for a nearby restaurant they will always point you in the right direction. Take the time to walk around the hotel it truly is a unique building. Old, a little run down, but worth the stay.

Room Tip: Asl for a room with a balcony or private terrace.

This is a very interesting hotel. The rooms and architecture are very interesting. We were upgraded to a suite, and the room was spectacular. The hotel is spotless, and it was fun to wander the courtyards and sitting rooms. Make sure walk the basement level, which has the feeling of an archaeological dig without the dirt & dust. Seville is a very walkable city regardless of where you stay. Lots of great places near by to eat.

Seville was the second stop on our tour of Spain back in 2009. We flew here from Barcelona and spent 3 days here before heading to visit the rest of Andalusia. This hotel turned out to be one of the most surprising experiences we had in Spain. Walking through the corridors to get to your room is a sheer delight. The hotel used to be a monastery, so the pathway to get to your room consists of alcoves, dark corners, and passageways,. Additionally, it is like walking through an open museum. There are beautiful statues placed all along the walkway and you cannot help but to stop and admire the works of art. We arrived during heavy rains and were glad to finally reach the hotel from the airport. The rain, the overcast, and dark skies, gave the walkway an added mystique, very Gothic. It truly was a special experience. The rooms were not small, but not to spacious either, I would say quaint. The part of the courtyard where we stayed was in the back, so we had peace and quiet. The bedroom had a nice little terrace covered by shudder doors. The bed was very comfortable and king size. The bathroom had a tub and was spacious enough to get comfortable and move around. We also enjoyed the early evening piano playing in the study located at the main entrance of the hotel. The people we met were terrific and friendly. Seville (aka Sevilla) was a wonderful stop on our tour and holds so much of Spain's history that if you are going to visit Southern Spain at all, it is well worth a stop and the Juderia is just the place to help you enjoy it that much more. From the hotel, you can walk all over the city or walk around the corner to catch the Hop on/Hop off bus (this breaks down into the Old town tour and the New town tour). Overall an awesome experience!

The location is excellent, with a good middle-eastern restaurant nearby. Walking distance to the city center. Friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was substantial with a lot of choice.

The room was very small, and the view was not nice.

If you were taking a tour of this hotel you may think it was interesting and unique with its many courtyards and tunnels. But a stay inside its walls is very annoying. To get to your room you may have to walk through its long, confusing and damp tunnels. It was about a 5 minute walk from the front desk to our room.

Our room looked nice and was sided by 2 courtyards, but it was very noisy with its paper thin walls. People gathered in the courtyards after midnight and you could hear them very clearly. (Not good after an 18 hour travel day.)

The location of the hotel was close to attractions and restaurants, but I would not recommend this hotel.

The physical facility was interesting - an old area of Seville that incorporates several old homes into a sprawling hotel. Some of the descriptions leave the impression that it's an historical restoration - not so. It approximates what might have been there. But our check in was discouraging. In the first room we were shown, we couldn't sit on the toilet - the wall was too close. The second room we were shown smelled strongly of mold. We were told there were no more rooms, and we explained that we were both allergic to mold and would end up in the hospital. So by some magic, they found a nice room, which had obviously been available all along. We're used to bad tables in restaurants, but this was disturbing. The location is good, and had we been treated better, we might have liked the hotel better.
