“Christmas visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed for 3 nights during the Spanish Christmas (1st week of the year), the hotel was quite conveniently located, with helpful reception staff. Breakfast was enough and good quality. It has an spa which we could not use due to lack of time and a season pool which would be worth in the hot months.

This Hotel is in a great location, pretty close to the main cathedral square, a stone throw away from Triana, the alameda, el centro and santa cruz and all the main attractions in Seville. The service was very professional and friendly, they where always helpful when we needed help, though we spoke fluent Spanish so i don't know if that played a factor.

A short walk to Plaza Nueva, the beginning of the Seville light rail train which makes getting around easy. The rooms where very clean, though a little smaller than what i am used to, but given the location it was not an issue. Their wifi service was not always 100%, yet i never had any problems connecting from my room.

If you are doing the tourist thing i would recommend getting the buffet breakfast, they start serving really early in the morning which means a good start to the day. Most of the local coffee shops dont offer protein in the morning, at best you can get toast, but at the buffet they had eggs and cheese and cold cuts.

Ah, and i wont forget to mention that the place was very clean, so no need to worry about that :o)

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the interior courtyard if you want a quiet room.

I had booked Hotel Becquer primarily based on their location and ability to offer car parking. I never rented a car, so latter was not a factor. However I was very much pleased with my choice. Hotel is nicely situated on a large street 10 minute walk to Cathedral and Alcazar. There are a host of restaurant options nearby. Hotel's restaurant itself is great. Taxi stand is right in front of hotel (helpful for early morn flights). For folks with Bank of america accounts in US, availability of Barclays ATM next to hotel is helpful (allows fee free ATM withdrawals). Taxi from bus station costs six euros and from airport 25 euros. Rooms are large and well stocked (coffee machine- which we did not see in any other hotel in spain)

For english speaking travellers, it is a boon that pretty much everybody at reception counter can converse in english. I did not see it in any hotel I stayed in six cities of spain in my trip wherein typically there were only 1 or 2 folks adept in english. . Top floor has lounging chairs for folks needing to benefit from Sun. However rooms typically do not have a view (none for roof either). Wireless internet works fine on ground floor (reception/restaurants ) but on higher floors, it is patchy (sometimes works and sometimes does not). Folks at reception are very helpful with local knowledge. We booked flamenco show as well as an excursion through them.

All in all it was a great stay for us at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: we chose high floor at rear to mitigate noise factor from street

Planning our spontaneous trip to Seville I spotted this hotel among the cheaper ones, but with a beautiful decoration and very good reviews. The hotel certainly lived up to the reviews and our expectations of fulfilling a very pleasant 4 day trip to the south of Spain. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the room was clean and comfortable with all the equipment that was needed. The location couldn’t be better in our opinion as we found everything to be within walking distance to all the major sights, but at the same time without being in the middle of the hectic touristic zone. We can definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is interested in visiting this charming capital of Andalucía.

You'd think this is a great hotel because it's a 4 star and you only paid the price of a 3 star, it's well located, the room is huge and it's really clean. But then the water stops for more than half an hour just when you need to flush the toilet and for the next 12 hours you have to shower with cold water. When you ask them they just shrug and tell they had a "problem". So maybe it was an accident. Still, the balcony doors don't really close so it's both draughty and noisy at night. I am sure Seville can offer better bargains than this place.

Perfect for a short winter break, close to the city centre - very helpful reception, the recommended Flamenco was superb and reception booked it all for us. Roof terrace a welcome sunny resting place. Very good breakfast too.

We chose this hotel having read other positive reviews and were not disapointed. This is a genuine four star hotel in a great location and represented very good value for money. We walked to all the city centre attractions within half an hour.
The buffet breakfast offered a remarkable choice from a full fryup to fruit taking in cereals, cold meats, cakes croisants etc etc. - quite unusual in Spain - very hard to resist over doing it.
Best bathroom we have had, bigger than some of the bedrooms we have stayed in with beautiful modern fittings including a magnificent shower.
Everything we expected to find was there and although the view from the room wasn't great it was very quiet and comfortable - oversleeping was easy but when we did we were still able to get breakfast at 10.00
All in all an excellent hotel with friendly efficient staff which we would recommend unreservedly.
