Stayed in August '14 for 2 nights with my father. The hotel is without doubt a 4+ star one, with all the modern convenieces of a great, hi-tech hotel, mixed harmoniously with the charm of classics.
THE LOCATION is great - situated in the Reyes Catolicos street that's just five minutes' walk from the Seville Cathedral.
THE STAFF was very helpful, polite and friendly.
THE ACCOMODATION, as I said, was perfectly worth its four stars or even a little more.
Besides, the hotel appeared to me very relaxing, quiet, and soothing - something quite necessary in a city like Seville bustling with tourists in the high season.

We just got back from a great trip to Seville, Spain. The Hotel Becquer is a great hotel. The atmosphere is welcoming and nicely laid back, but the place runs very smoothly and efficiently. There is a great Pool on the roof with good views all around Seville. The bar next to th pool is also pretty good - with friendly and pleasant bar staff. (beer 330ml €3 and cocktails €5) a bit pricey for a bar but it's what you'd expect in a hotel. There is a small supermarket (turn right out of the entrance then 1st right off the main road, then cross the side road and its about 20 or 30 metres along 1 litre cold beer €1.30 for your picnics or room boozing!) The Orsini opposit and right to the end of the road is a reasonably priced Italian with good food. Talking of which the breakfast in the Becquer is buffet-style and excellent, fresh-fruit, cereal, yoghurt, coffee and espresso, fruit juices, cold meats, cheese and a hot buffet with eggs, hash bowns, tomatoes etc - there's also various cakes and fresh bread - bacon not so much but the air-dried ham is good. The room we stayed in wasn't huge, but very tidy and clean, the ensuite was immaculately clean and there was room in the hotel-products-fridge for a couple of drinks of your own to chill - check-in and check-out was very fast. The Airport bus drops you about 8 minutes walk away at the Plaza de Armas (€4 each from Airport - Aug 2014). The river can be seen from the bus drop-off and th correct direction to walk in is with the river on your right hand side - then you can follow the Google-maps screen print you did!! On the way home we got a cab from the rank exactly opposite the Hotel entrance - it cost €28 despite being told variously and repeatedly that thr fare was €25 - but there you go.

I can recommend this place - it's unpretentious, simple and nice - We'll go back to Seville and we'll stay there what more can I say - Enjoy

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was a fabulous experience. Hotel was clean and the location was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful with helping us hire bikes and where to go around the city. Would stay here again and recommend for others.

We stay here regularly because:
It's centrally located and has parking. Being centrally located is vital for us because Seville gets so hot and I cannot tolerate walking long distances in the heat.
The hotel Becquer has style and finesse and rooms are large enough to fit in an extra bed.
It's staff are professional and have a can do attitude, there is also concierge that will provide good advice, maps, bookings etc...
Everything is spotlessly clean, selection of teas and coffee provided in the room, complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, massive fluffy towels.
There is a rooftop terrace, with small pool, the views across historic Seville are amazing from here especially when the sun goes down.
It is fair value for money, given the generally high accommodation prices in Seville.
Every time we have visited we have been given a super room, so I have never put in a special room request as I wouldn't imagine there are any inferior ones.

We were up-graded to a bigger room which always helps with a good review - but even so, the staff were very helpful (my Spanish is not good!), parking was extra but worth it. Breakfast on the roof terrace was good - pastries, bread, fruit, meat, cheese, good coffee and juice - with fantastic view across the rooftops to the Cathedral. Pool is tiny - didn't use it. You can borrow bicycles for half a day - they are a bit battered - but you can get round the city very easily on the cycle paths. If we go back to Seville we would stay there again.

Stayed here in 2008 (forced to choose Sept 2013 by Trip Advisor interface). Construction within the hotel and no sympathy for the impact on the guests. Staff were rude, haughty and indifferent. Maybe it's different now but services often decline over the years rather than improve. My daughter wanted to use the pool and they wanted a 10€ deposit for EACH towel. We have travelled all over the world and never encountered this. Stood on principle and my daughter did not swim. Instead, she comprehended some valuable lessons about customer service, attitudes and principle as they were explained to her by us. She left knowing more than the hotel staff. Now, we are off to Seville again (Aug 2014) and will NOT be staying at Hotel Becquer. You reap what you sow.

Comfortable hotel, very clean and nice bathroom. Breakfast is good with Fresh orange juice and home made cakes. The location is perfect. And the extra €15 for chocolates and bubbles are well spent for an romantic gettaway. Pricewise a good deal.
